Finally finished the Lejeune.
60cm Lejeune 531 cs
Mavic Ellipse Track Wheelset
Miche 17t Sprocket
KMC Chain
48t Chainring & Cranks
MKS Pedals
Selle Italia SLR Saddle
Cinelli Stem
BLB 38cm Drop Bars
Brixton Cycles Bar TapeThat looks great mate, you really did a good job!
I think I said it before, but you should really raise your stem. It would give you a better riding position - the frame is a little too small for you, but raising the stem would help lessen that... -

But it looks soooo cooooool!*
** Seriously...*

They are built for the track. They don't have the spoke count and lacing pattern to be strong enough to really stand up to prologued use on London roads. I'd be very worried about bending them.

^?????
they'll be fine.

Nothing wrong with mavic ellipses on london roads neither, those wheels are tough as all fuck combined.

agreed, alex, ellipses are fine.
-
• #19712
but the guy's gonna be using them for prologued London Riding.
I think he's a few years late for that.
-
• #19713
i'm pretty sure they'll be fine for the road and surely when they're laced 36 3x then they'll be alright?

Aye. I didn't see the last few posts when I tapped my reply. thought mi post was going straight under his.

Really? Front perhaps but that rear on a big enough rider wouldn't fill me with confidence.

i've ridden 16h/20h, never ever broken a spoke. I believe it's as much to do with the build, and riding style.

Ha ha, funny I always get more coments on my bathroom door then my bike.
Anyway, I know it´s way to small for me but since it´s an old roadframe the toptube is long enough for me.
Will replace the frame for a bigger one when summer comes.Cheers!

track wheels are built to be stiff, and stiff is strong, which is good... innit, blud with a capital B.

it's a cinelli 101 stem. i'm gonna wait till my seatpost arrives to see if there's enough yellow with the saddle. maybe yellow tyres and bar tape will be too much, don't know till i try it really though

Very nice. Very nice indeed.

nothing has changed on it in a while apart from the carbon post (not as pretty as the thomson but far far more practical/light) + i have double wrapped the tape (brooks black over the top of trek tape) for extra comfy grip with my over-sized hands and lowered the saddle a little for a more relaxed riding style

do both brake levers work the front brake?
Your not riding those wheels on the road are you?
