EEEEK! I am so excited, I just paid my deposit on a custom frame. The die is cast! Now to spend the next 6 months obsessing about it ... lugs or fillet (or filed lugs!), compact or trad, chrome or paint (and what colour!? I'll be starting endless threads asking everyone to help me decide on what I've already decided on), blah de fucking blah.
lugs and fillet brazed is a 531 combination.

does anyone know of / could reccomend any decent bullhorn bars that could rival the Nitto RB018, with a 26mm clamp?

Order some tyres whilst you're at it, the UK importer of Paselas isn't getting anything smaller that 1&1/4 in these days, so i'm told.... blah de fucking blah.
fAck me, 27x1 1/4 is the smallest I've found.... even US.
Help? -

Was on the verge of phoning Mercian this morning to lay down the dollar on a King of Mercia and thought I would check ebay one last time to see if anything caught my eye. Low and behold! A King of Mercia in my size, the same colour frame, transfers and lug lining I was about to order and had never even been built up by the owner! Went to pick it up and its absolutly immaculate and for a song compared to what I was bracing myself to pay for a new one. One cup of tea and a good chat about the merits of hand made bicycles later and the frame is mine.
Now just to wait for the pink Deep Vs and Chubs to turn up. Il get the angle grinder out in the mean time to get rid of all those ugly braze ons ;)

Not really sure yet. Going to be DA downtube shifters and a triple though. Im thinking that the saving on the frame is going to allow the justification of a phone call to Cliff at Royce!

The Pistanator Principal is still valid, those Mash frames just look shit built up.
I rode through Hope this week - tried to spot the factory but no joy.
