Yes it is, am I asking for the right tool here?
yes thats the right tool. i had the same stem and got my 7mm allen key for the same reason. some rogue pinched my saddle and seat post once but i put it down to the 7mm allen bolt that they left my stem and bars. its quite a nice stem.

It was kind of a tongue in cheek post, but still a valid project I think?
It took me about a year to get it like that, front wheel from spain, back wheel for beijing via ireland, find bits cheap, put them on. And there are still bits to be done, so still a project. It is in every sense my 'Current Project' bike.
Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.....very short sightedness by my newbie self, I shall crawl into my hole.....Apologies all round....Love you Gizmond!!!

the last couple of pages have been really odd.
@ Gizmond - I really want to ride your bike through the Greenwich foot tunnel, it would sound amazing. really like the build. what events (discipline?) do you / will you be using it for?

I was going to 'ave this off eBay, but my wi-fi cut out whilst I was placing my bid with mere seconds to go. You can imagine my distress, I really wanted that thing.
Good to know you're treating it right though. Still...
I didn't know it was an eBay special. I bought it off a forumenger who said he bought it for his girlfriend.
I'm not sticking risers and a spok on it if that's what you mean by treating it right, but I am tempted to convert it. It's now my only bike and I'm missing riding fixed.

chrome Sunn I got this morning, woo! I can see my face in it. I'll do a decent picture when its finished, which won't take long
this was in a very sorry state this morning when I picked it up - the guy said 'yeah, the brakes are broken, and the back wheel's doing something funny'. He wasn't kidding. I've already binned the gripshits and mechs.
I'm after some cheapish 26" wheels if anyone's got any knocking around
Want. That's going to be super-fun. I'm on the lookout for something similar at the moment, but don't want to pay anything for it. I'm waiting for a find...

looks like 600 by the bolt..
-
• #18568

*bras won't be DA.

It's going to be built with as little £££ as possible, all I need is a rear wheel, grips and a tensioner and I'm away. New cranks too if I can find them for less than a tenner. Can't wait to get off road again!
it'd be interesting to see who could build the best bike for less than £50
[QUOTE=andyp;1068434]Yes, in a nutshell, you have got it all wrong. Almost every one on here has gone out and bought their frames from somewhere, be it ebay or a jumble or from a retailer. I don't think it matters one iota where the frame came from, instead this thread is about the thought process and choices made in putting together a bike.[/QUOT
Roger that mate, sorry to offend!!
