Hello all,
Sorry for intrusion in discussions of any kind, but i was chased from the general forum to this thread.
Below are pix of my winter project - basically, Giant Bowery 72 frameset with alternative cockpit and crankset. I am looking to get a new set of wheels, so your advise on hubs/rims is well sought after. I get the feeling silver/chromed fork and chainstay are really getting in the way of everything, but does anyone think I can still go without having to repaint it?
In a nutshell: what rims/spokes/hubs combo should I get to go with this:

Wheelset depends on your budget, but some deep section rims would look good with the oversized tubes. Mavic CXP33 / Velocity Deep V / H plus son are all good.
For hubs, i would go for Onone (cheap) or Goldtec (mid-priced).

pisti stop chasing them, I told 'em top put it here so you'd stop with the parody threads. No go and wind up someone else.
and scorch you weren't chased from anywhere, you were pointed int he direction of the thread that would get you the responses you wanted, rather than the responses you got...

I wonder if there's this much drama on the GHD Hair Straightening Forum?

braker, I've done a quick mock up for you, using the same geometry as your design (and same colour scheme!), but with a shape I feel will give you a stiffer, stronger frame. I think it looks a bit less ridiculous too...
The only issue with this is the lower handlebars, but I'm sure this can be dealt with by using different stem/bar/stacker combinations.

I appreciate the advice, but I might be a tad uncomfortable on that.

Id go with sams re-design and risers. Maybe with slightly less slope in the top tube. Insisting on drops means you are going to have to have either a huge stem or massive headtube, neither of which are technically or aesthetically desirable. Some nice 3" risers like Spank or bewitch are gonna save you ( or gusset come to think of it).
Edit: I have a bigger saddle to bar drop on my bike with drops then you do on yours, so even if you insist on drops you can drop the height of your headtube some, and use a spacer or two.

Finally finished my Bob Jackson after the hassle of it arriving scratched. Went for a test ride and it rides well. Feels a bit stretched so will be on the lookout for a shorter stem. Any recommendations?
It is actually green, but due to my camera (phone) being crap it looks black. I have a decent camera on the Christmas list!

Sam: Exactly. Looks sorta like the Cinelli Mash now...

haha
it would look better with a flat t/t, and a normal flat stem, and risers/drops as and when needed.

P.S.
Its not. Thats the point.
Err, yes it is.

Its not just any old fork like the frame is any old frame.
I don't understand how you could own such a lovely fork, with history and skill behind it and be content to whack it on a nasty frame? Its a really weird mis-match. I'm not saying that its the grand daddy of all forks, but its just off. Like putting a bianchi pista fork on a 3rensho frame. In that instance you are just putting any old fork or not-just-any-old frame. Its off. -

With absolutely no disrespect at all: You don't seem to be sure enough to be designing yourself a frame. I can't vouch for your skills either way, but you just seem too uncertain to be parting with the time and cash needed to produce a frame; that is going to be a bit funny looking at the end of the process.

Sam & Harry have designed braker an uncomfortable bike (with the tt sloping the wrong way for a big fella). It doesn't fit him, and has bars he doesn't want. Now Harry is telling him he can't design a frame because they don't ride bikes like that in MASH.
