Does not depend on the gear ratio. More on the size of front chainwheel and crank length.
This decides by what factor your power is multiplied...
Connecting skills also play a role.Well i'l be starting with 50/15 and then increasing the gearing as i get stronger :)

Plain white soyos FTW - Rest of the bike looks good IMO, though i would loose the halflink

• #17909
KC, is it a full time job replacing your bar tape this often?
-
• #17910
I only ask because it's a fairly demanding part-time job keeping up with you in this thread.
-
• #17911
KC, you always manage to ruin it, don't you? Plain bartape would have been more than fine...
edit, the problem is, the bar tape looks to busy, it draws your eye away from the rest of the bike too much. Its a distraction from what is otherwise a lovely ride.

+1
the barber's pole and the stripy tape look cack together IMO

I'm intruiged as to what you do for a living, KC? You seem to be a bit of a perfectionist; incapable of letting something be finished, always tweaking.

Are you guys fucking serious? That thing is beautiful!
I'd be more than happy hanging it on my christmas tree.

Surely that's all that matters?

KC, just stop posting pics of your bikes. You will never impress everyone - and people just seem to see you as a bit of a target now.
If a newbie posted that pic, they wouldn't get a grilling. -
• #17921
I'd ride it.
Incidentally, this is what I did to the Look which I gather KC had originally. Cack photo.

He's a barber I think.
-
• #17923
I don't think he's a target - he's more active here than most, so attracts more criticism and praise than most.
Personally I think he'd nailed it with the version above (black tape, Brooks etc), but then went a tinker too far and ruined it. There's no point saying "change it back"; he obviously likes his bikes to be constantly evolving - nothing wrong with that.

There you go, simples!
Great minds and all that! ;-)
