  • yeah thats nice
i wanna see the whole bike

  • you fucking prick tease Guy!

  • Yeah, come on Guy. Stop the teasing and show us the full glory!

  • WOW! Beautiful!!

I suppose you have pics of the full bike? Pleeeeaasse!

    Loic

  • Gizmond that's a real beauty. I would also love to see more pics.
Last night I resurrected my wet weather hack bike for the winter months. It's mostly from spare parts but the front wheel is from another bike, but have a similar rim just trying to get a hub.

  • Update on the LoPro. Sorry for the crap picture, will get some proper ones done when it's finished, hopefully next week.
Just waiting for the Italian Lockring, some black bar tape and some new allen key skewers to come in the post (damn strikes!).

    Before:

    Now:

It's an ambrosio disc wheel, running 53:16 as a magic ratio (I know, but I can handle it!), will probably rebuild the front wheel radial at some point. Pretty happy with how it's coming together. It's an awesome bike to ride.

Pretty much finished now. Did about 45 miles on it today, and it is absolutely effortless to cruise fast on.

The light was shit this evening, so this is the best i could do with a picture for now.

    I'm pretty happy with it.

  • metallic purple hexagonal tubes - incredible!

  • Any one know a good, but not too exspensive threadless headset for a build?
    Crane creek?
    Cheers...

  • Ok Gizmond thats super sweet, IRLeo, awesome beater, SamDoman- superace lo pro.
far too many nice bikeses these days!
The Geekhouse mach 2 is coming on:

The workshop is coming along too:

Got plans for a bench for ski tuning, and currently building some shelves for the walls to clear some clutter.
Then a Flickwg style bike holder in the back so that I don't have to lean my bikes up and they can be gently warmed by the boilers...
I still have so much clearing out to do, but I have to pass everything I want to give away/ chuck past my parents first, so it's pretty time consuming.

Gizmond, your a cunt for not showing all of it, and yet doing that ace bike photography.

  • 45 miles!! how does you back feel?

53 16!! how do your knees feel?

    you must be young.

    sorry if i missed something.

  • @Gizmond, Amazing! Where the fuck did you find that?

  • I'm 20. My back and knees both feel fine! I'm a tad over 6ft tall, and it is honestly the most comfortable riding position of any bike I have ever ridden.

  • Great bike.
Long time ago I owned 2x red Benotto 3000. The red was darker though.

here is the completed lady bike - I'm rather please with it, as is she :)

Looks nice, mind telling how much this cost.. roughly?

  • more photos Giz........ worth the wait? ;)

  • @Gizmond, Amazing! Where the fuck did you find that?

    this cracks me up

  • Giz I'm gutted I didn't get to see that before it left Steve's workshop and ended up in London's famous etc...
I'll have to have a peek next time I'm heading down. Goff meetup. I'll take a photo for Steve's wall!

  • Progressing slowly, waiting for some goodies from Freshtripe, then I will be able to get it finished!!

  • The workshop is coming along too:

Dude! Someone has sawn your snowboards in half!

And Giz, that looks amazing. Reveal it now!!

  • Current project, Tom Crowther/Mercian. Requires a shorter stem, narrower bars, and I'm going to make use of my Campag seat pin. Also planning on stripping and polishing the rear derailleur. Stove enameled frame came up a treat with a bit of Turtle Wax

  • It's also equipped with the optional Cinelli sloping fork crown, by all accounts.

  • Why don´t you guys just use s pipe cutter?

I´ve been using this, there´s nothing that can even come close to the result.

I used to use a pipe cutter but at the workshop we always use a hacksaw and a hacksaw blade guide. A much nicer straighter cut. Needs deburring of course. Pipe cutters seem to flare the tubing a bit if its thicker than about 0.25mm.

  • Columbus hexagonal
    Chrome lugs
    Full campag

Its got a hexagonal BB shell too:-)
And its even nice to ride!

You know, I took the train home from Waterloo after having a busted ankle due to a peds dancing on the middle of the street, I managed to catch the last carriage and another guy appear behind me with a Colnago hexagonal tubing frame that's obviously too small for him.

have a long conversation with him about bicycle and his in general, I learn that the hexagonal tubing (in theory) is stronger than conventional one, simply because it's basically a round tube in the inside with a hexagonal shape on the outside, couldn't explain it properly but he draw a diagram to show me.

  • @ Tall
True that^^Just needs to go gently at the end. I´ve tried to perfect the cut with some cut ends off handlebars, and it works fine. Besides you can get this pipe cutter for less than a fiver.

^^loving the purple hexa... hating the wait.

  • The Geekhouse mach 2 is coming on:

    .

Nice. A little tip regarding the midge bars. They take silly amounts of dialling in before you reach nirvana, so wait before taping.

After retaping umpteen times I finally got mine perfect (for me at least). I found turning the brake hoods inwards gave a massive area to rest your hands when 'cruising-on-the-hoods', and a good 'in-the-drops-fingers-on-brakes' position for control (great on trails). The thicker tape on the end shifters allows for a comfortable lower cruising position for windy days.

    Enjoy ;)
