  • ah... I see what you mean - you can just about see from the last pic. Thats fucking cool. Love it when you get those little out-of-the-ordinary features.

    What yrs the frame?

  • The frame is full out-of-the-ordinary.
Not too sure on the year. The frame number is F2. Which is kinda unhelpful in dating. We know from the dropouts its pre 1990, and at a guess Id say mid 80s, but I couldn't swear to it, it could be older. It also doesn't have any tubing stickers, which isn't too handy either.

  • Argh
I'm having a little trouble designing track ends. I'm drawing them on car first, then checking them.
    Its hard

  • Shit the bed Eddie, undoubtedly one of my fave fabulous fixie frames ever. I'm not easily made jealous, but that is covetable in the extreme. Do you have and the bits for it already?

  • I'm currious, will the nag* rust under the clear coat, or will it protect it as well as a normal paint job?

*bc I can't spell Nagasawa and couldn't be arsed to look up the page... yes I know its just above me but thats my story and I'm stucking to it!

  • Nagasawa.

  • Nagasawa

  • what size is this beasty?

    58 tt c2c
    62 st c2t

  • stunning

  • the HHSB is coming together more and more each day, fitted the headset and forks today, T minus 9 days!

fitted the stem and seat post today, cinelli pista bars in the post, sugino 75's next friday.

due to lack of more exciting ideas i have settled on a thomson stem and sea tpost combo, im really having trouble thinking what i would prefer, but im not entirely happy with my choice

  • moots seatpost?

  • Looks mint Crane, good call on the thomson gear too IMO. That's going to be beautiful to ride man! It fits you right?

  • it was custom built for me, so i bloody well hope so

  • hold on, is there a dent in the TT?

  • moots seatpost?

wildly too rich for my blood

  • it would be awesome if Thomson released a titanium version of their lovely seatpost.

  • apparently the problem with titanium seatposts is that they dont match the shade of the frame

  • That Nag looks amazing. Seriously fucking awesome.

  • bery nice naggazzazza

  • Alright boys and Girls,

Half way through my first conversion and wanted to ask about the drop outs.....

I've lovingly sanded down a steel frame from an old rigid mbt, cut all the brake bits off (never fear I will have a front brake!!) and I'm now very close to having it Powder coated.....

My problem is the drop outs, the original ones I have sawn off the rear derailier hanger to just leave the drop out 'slot'......Is it worth now that i've put quite a bit of effort into it converting the original drop outs to horizontal drop outs??

I've seen these....would a joe bloggs welder be able to do it or would I have to go to a bike specialist.....http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/userimages/procart12.htm

Or should I just buy a half link??.......do these pose any problems with the running of the chain??

Get it done properly. Dropouts are often brazed in place even if the rest of the bike is welded, because the stays are rather thin at the ends.

Vertical dropouts and fixed are always unsatisfactory. You might get lucky with a magic gear after trying five chainrings and three sprockets, but even then chain wear will catch up with you much quicker than normal. Half-links are not good because they stretch before the rest of the chain and have a bit of a reputation for breaking (pedalling tries to straighten the bent side plates). The ENO hub works for some people, slips for others, and costs just as much as having new dropouts fitted by the best framebuilder you can find (Argos in Bristol are the most expensive I know).

  • hold on, is there a dent in the TT?

    Thats what I thought?!

  • Thats what I thought?!

    ouch

  • it would be awesome if Thomson released a titanium version of their lovely seatpost.

They would then need to make a titanium stem. The fact that Thomson stems and posts match so well is a big plus for me looks wise.

  • after nearly four months my pink ian piper lo pro is finally finished.. absolutely stoked with it, loved building it, hated waiting while I sourced straight chrome good steel 650c forks and things.. big thanks to retro di corsa for putting new thread on the forks and a few other things on Monday night, you're a gent Hutch... also thanks to Harry and Jan for enthusing along with me on a busy Sunday a few weeks ago and doing the '700 or 650?' tryouts.. much appreciated

the frame is more of an electric pink than the photos but you get the idea..

That's rad PJs, I reckon your Spotted quota is going to double at least.

  • just picked this up, not sure what to do with it though....

no drilling for front brake and I don't do brakeless!!
