  • how did you secure that disc to the wheel? it looks very neat...

I put alloy snippets around the spokes, put velcro together on the alloy snippet and put the disc on it.
The Disc was measured and cut to fit right on the wheels.

Today i was hit by a wind blow... i think i will get rid of it in the Front :D

  • killjoy

  • This is my Pump - right.

  • I like that On-One ChrisMGS how does the frame feel?
i hear they are fairly strong, does that effect the weight?

Feels awesome, although I'm not sure I am using the right bars. It's my first steel road frame, and first fixed, so I am still getting used to it. I like the 48 x 16 gear though. Pretty fast.

  • Building this guy for my lady at the moment...

looking really nice. where did you got the decals in the end?

  • Thanks to broken_777 and Clarkenwell screws my Mercican is operational.

Also a big thank you to the forum and everone who helped supply parts, advice and services - esp fiercebadger for not powder-coating it ;)

Thanks to RM I'm waiting for sprokets, so the rear tub is tempory.

14t x 48t brakeless with no foot retention FTW.

  • Thanks! It's taken a while..

Got it decals from ebay in the end..So glad I did.
Had to wait a while for the guy to fix his printer but all the decals (including the tubing stickers) came to about £20 or something.

By the way - what seatpost size did your frames take? 26.something? I don't have digital callipers and dont have time to take it to a bike shop before the end of the week..

  • My Falcon cheapie fixie.

with the new charge goodies on.....

Just waiting for my new rear fixed wheel to be delivered!! So I can take the rear mech and ride it!!

  • too tired to ride, your bike is a little too big for you.

  • Not techincally a new project as I've just found a hefty crack in the GB, gotta get it fixed. So this is a make-do frame for now but undoubtedly will become bike #2

  • /\ /\ /\ (2tired2ride)
These cranks look like bromptons ones...

    Loic

  • They do actutally, but longer.....I may remove the chaingaurd though..

    How?

edscoble you are being too kind, that bike is waaay too big at least if the picture shows the current set up for riding. 80 years ago a large frame such as this would have been the norm but .....

@2tired2ride how tall are you and where is the rear brake?

    sorry if i missed something.

the pista came with the seat post so i haven't measured it. the mixte takes a 26.4mm.

I'm 6ft 1. Its not set up yet as I havent finished it yet, that is why it has a freewheel and gears on. I'm not riding it at the moment untill my fixed wheel comes (should be tomorro). Don't worry guys I'm not riding a freewheel bike with only a front brake.

In 2tired2rides defense, whilst the amount of exposed seatpost would suggest too large the bar height and reach would suggest okay. If you have long arms/torso but short legs then this is how your bike could look.
How can Ed and co know it's too big without seeing the rider on the bike or knowing their measurements?

  • Thanks Kerley, I have raised the saddle. But I do have long legs and arms. I had a 60cm frame before this bike, but it was too small.

  • I'm 6'3" but my height is mainly in my neck, what size frame do I need?

  • 14t x 48t brakeless with no foot retention FTW.

    wow!

  • PM edscoble.

  • the HHSB is coming together more and more each day, fitted the headset and forks today, T minus 9 days!
