  • ...1. Is a 1889 Brown & Lewis track bike made in Chicago. I need to find a new wood front rim ...

Have you tried Dave Marsh over here?
    http://www.universalcyclecentre.co.uk/Genstock.htm

Down the page he has some cane rims... Seems like a reasonable price for a pair, including the long nipples needed, 26" though so I'm not sure if that's the size you need.

Best of luck with the restoration!

  • pryally, i don't like you....
you've beaten me at my own game.

it is a lovely bike though.
    See nut.

Thinking when I get some drop bar brake levers I might swap the risers for a Deda Newton set-up.

  • just completed this for winter, still waiting for the Phil hubs and need to track down the newer style eno cranks. Also need to fit some mudguards....

    Loving this.
Singular frame, midge bars, disc brakes, chubby tyres......great combination of components, although...

.....needs black zip ties for the speedo sensor :)

Always liked the pompino midgebar combo myself.
I've been riding the local trails on cycloX frame with midge bars, and 35mm cross tyres recently. Its silly amounts of fun :)

i thought someone would have mentioned this sooner!

    thanks for compliment...

  • Hello!

i just joined this Board and want to post my current Project.

It is my first Bike beside my real Race Bike.
Got that couple of weeks on a board as a frameset.
It is a Centurion Le mans.

On this bike i want to finish a second disc in the back and puting on some labels.
and i need to put in a new freehub.

I think i will build a fixed gear around feb 2010.

    regards from germany!

  • I like that On-One ChrisMGS how does the frame feel?
i hear they are fairly strong, does that effect the weight?

  • so see you on the polo court?!...

  • hehe i was thinking about how long it would take to be asked for that.
i never played polo on a bike, but i think i have to. ;)

but i will build a second disc for the back in the upcoming days.

Due to a visit in Didcot i should bring my bike for a Polo Game, he ;)

  • You cant put disks on a bike and not play polo.

Thats just not right.....not that i can see any reason why you wouldnt want to play polo!

  • ok - i just started playing polo couple of minutes ago.
Can i leave them on now?

  • hehehehe

  • Is that a little baby version of your bike behind it?

  • haha

  • pryally, the more i look at your bike the more jealous i am.
    perfect.
    just lovely.

  • how did you secure that disc to the wheel? it looks very neat...
