  • Nice one mdizzle, I do like a singlespeed/fixed wheel bicycle that appear like a classic road bike, it look just right.

in another note, after 45 minutes worth of thumb rubbing, I've finally stripped the Cinelli Unicanitor saddle, it's noticeably more comfortable when you removed the cover.

bonus point - look brand fuxking new.

Ed i copied you my old unicanitor was in terrible condition on the top. the leather was really worn and uncomforable, now i'm quite happy with it, it looks nicer is more comfy (very flexy, and lighter)

  • Great photo!

Unicanitor saddles were considered the best for so many years.

Good to see them becoming popular again.

  • Nice Nebulus. Prob a little bit too shiny for what I'm after but still looks spot on

  • The road bike is done!!

    From this:

Nice saddle. If you ever want to get rid of it, I'll take it off your hands.

    Needs more polishing!
To scare the taxi and bus drivers away!

  • ....and to help you get flies out your eyes! ;-)

  • @ Illy, it is actually in a sale thread in classifieds and shopping, along with the seatpost.

However, that was before i actually sat on it! It is rather nice. I'll see how i get on with it after a longer ride this weekend then let you know!

And I can't be bothered to buy a new seatpost, so i think I'll keep that as well!

  • hehe, looking forward to how your bianchi turns out...

  • The road bike is done!!

Get white (or even black) bar tape (e.g. cork w/o brownish flakes) and move the bottle cage to the downtube.
    Nice bike.

  • Result! My Colnago worries are nearly over! After literally a month of badgering the guy who was trying to do me over the frame finally arrived unexpectedly this morning! Not heard from the guy for nearly two weeks but know he was reading my mails. Started stepping it up letting him know that I knew his address, where he worked, who he worked for, and had a list of all his business contacts and facebook friends (google is your friend). Said I wondered what would happen if they all found out? Frame was posted the day after that mail.

Thining of getting it refinished at Argos but need to decide on colour - perhaps canary yellow

    Good sleuthing/ blackmail sir!

  • Why thank you! The plan was to make a blog with al the correspondence, proof of payment, some funny holiday snaps I found of him on and send the link toeveryone he knows. Evidently that wasn't something he wanted to happen!

  • Hee hee hee

  • joe, that would have been ace. do it anyway.

  • Hopefully image and a couple of others fixed now....

ha! sounds like you've got him by the balls, could try and waggle a crankset out of him or something

  • If I was cruel perhaps! Not in to extortion, just wanted what I had paid for! Feels like I won something really as I had given up hope of seeing the frame or money - hence thinking of spunking cash on getting it restored!

  • ha! sounds like you've got him by the balls, could try and waggle a crankset out of him or something

He also has Joe's address and access to Google. There are some right psychos out there so may be best to leave it at that!

  • yeah true

    Impressive stalking skills!

  • Put the kettle on son! :)

(grew up round that area, know that road lik the back of my hand)

  • Thought I'd post up a few pics of my project.

This is my first, been doing it about 3 weeks, want it on the road for winter as I'm getting unfit (mainly through drinking copious amounts of jack daniels on weekends) and my old golf doesn't like the cold weather.

    So here goes..

This the frame I started with.

    Dropouts were already cut off..

So i got some welded in..

While I was at it I had the rear hub shortened to 120mm, all the holes i didn't need, for the badge, rear brake bits and bottle holder have all been smoothed.

The frame is currently at shot blasting / powder coating, it'll be back this week, it's gonna be green frame with brown forks.

While it's been away I got these off a mate for £5.

and made them look like this...

Now just waiting on some money to buy some wheels and the other bits and bobs as I have nothing :D

I'll keep updating as it goes along if anyone cares haha.

It'll be nice to have something that's "mine" at the end of it

  • i live just round the corner from there!

  • Bloody hell! Maybe we should have a Far South Wests beers evening then!

For those of us in the Kingston/Surbiton area who are too busy (or lazy!) to get into the South or Wests Beers...

  • No you need to make it to normal Wests Beers and then just HTFU it back home. :)
