It's a RAP keirin frame, Flickr Photo Download: New frame day (NJS RAP), after a big dose of tlc from armourtex and alltheflakesyoucaneat, RAL 5020 (ocean blue). It changes color from this kinda teal (direct sunlight) to a really dark blueish/grey (shade/night)...amazing to look at. And I will redo the decals myself, since there's no way I can get them :$
The stem won't be that one, i guess i'm still stoked by it and really wanna try it(cheap as chips on the bay £28)... still waiting for one of these:
And i chose the shimano and not the DA cause of the wedge bit, really bad experiences with those, just like the ergostem. -

Are the RS-430s clincher? surely you need tubulars for racing the JKA circuit?
-
• #16004
Well they let you ride clinchers, I didn't even ask.

• #16005
But what tyres though?

I may have one for you, just the small cap is missing (where the access to the bolts is). PM if you're interested.

So this is where i'm standing atm... just waiting to find some black Nitto drops, not even sure tbh if that's what i want.. :$
Just really want to get this done.Pick black or pick silver but don't mix them

But what tyres though?
Good question... i've been trying to do my own tyre review for quite a while, even though[t] there's a thread for it, i still think i need to try it myself as everyone has different opinions, apart obvs from the typical shite.
I'm giving a go at Conti's City Contact that I bought ages ago and never used, seems to me like a good/affordable tyre for london roads, and hopefully will be able to fit both (28c).
I know it's not the typical choice for this type of frame but if not, they will fuck off. -

did you leave the dropouts raw where the bolt clamps? On the original, it looks like there's some stainless steel (maybe chrome?) that you could have taped off. ALways a stylish move. sweet ride.

it's a powdercoating, nothing could have taped it....it would toast!... but i see what u mean ;-)

• #16015
pretty sure I saw this locked up somewhere today....near spitalfields maybe? remember thinking the grips looked good with that frame.

Almost done, just need to grab a 36 hole rim, and build the rear wheel up with it's dura ace track hub.Ultegra front hub, dura ace rear ss at the moment.Ultegra brakes to 600 Levers, mavic bars ad stem, mavic cranks running on a zeus bb.Frame is a Duarte, colombus slx tubing, would like to find out more about the manufacturer, but no louck on the web yet.But it has Cinelli lugs, and is dated 1984.....rides like a dream

Nice one mdizzle, I do like a singlespeed/fixed wheel bicycle that appear like a classic road bike, it look just right.
in another note, after 45 minutes worth of thumb rubbing, I've finally stripped the Cinelli Unicanitor saddle, it's noticeably more comfortable when you removed the cover.
bonus point - look brand fuxking new.

Bit of a tangent this, but does anyone who lives in the E Anglia area know anything about Carbonology. Apparently they can do repairs to carbon frames, and I'm trying to get people's experiences. For some reason there seem to be a lot of carbon workshops etc in that part of the country.
I took a tour of a carbon frame company in Diss the other day; their experience in the area came from working in motorsports, which comes from working near Lotus.
I think there are lots of motorsports spin-off companies in East Anglia because of that. Maybe that's the explanation?
Never heard of Caronology, though.
