I've just done setting up the Bianchi Pista, and wouldn't you know, it's actually noticably more comfortable despite the top tube being way too short (56cm TT and not forgetting the steep seat tube angle) than the Bob Jackson ffs..
i have the same depressing problem. My dirt cheap IRO is the most comfortable bike i own.

Charge Plugs are a bit like that - cheap components, weigh a ton yet comfy, fun to ride and faster than you'd think too. No wonder there's so many of them around. -

Ha ha, i put a brake on to keep you all happy! plus this will be for rainy days, hence gatorskins which i hear are shit for skidding.
but i took the brake off my other bike, and it might just stay that way... -

well what it really comes down to is that I don't care what it looks like or what kind of conglomeration of parts it has on it. Reach too long? Rummage through parts bin and pull out ugly ass BMX stem. Want more up-right posture? buy spend 10 doll hairs on a 8" riser bar. I have only one rule for that bike. All parts must be black or silver.
i feel funny about abandoning all "rules" for my Waterford and jacking it up. Something just seems off about it. That said, If i was riding 15 miles across town, no way i'd take the IRO. It's simply not fast enough. I have a hard time breaking 17 MPH. Waterford with 19mm tires, tall gearing, 140 PSI, and drop bars gets me where I'm gong pretty damn quickly. Throw a lucky tail wind in there and cruising at 25 is doable with some effort. Benefits to both.

Beautiful NOS find.
Give us more details about how you stumbled upon it.
Most evenings are spent searching through ebay's offerings one night two weeks ago I stumble on this. Poor photos and an even porrer listing :-). After a couple of bids it was mine for a song.
This came from an old man's house who died a recluse. Most of his family had not seen him for years. Being a good club cyclist in his day he mainly rode in the Leeds area. After his death the family went round to clear out the house which was full of old bike's, the old man had died in his chair, there was not even a bed in the house. Just lots and lots of bike's, frames and box's of spares.
This was found in one of the room's still wrapped in brown paper with a BJ tag straight from the shop, in a box marked with Bob Jackson were all the parts. Still in their box's waiting to be built up. Thats how I got it last weekend with a box of bits and two sets of wheels, Mavic rimed and Campy record hubs. The rest was dumped in a skip....!!! -

Not all, the chap who I got this from. Is sure he knows where some more wheels and frame's may be. Though he admitted he help clear out the house, and chucked over 10 fancy lugged frame's in the skip box's of hubs, gears, cranks and wheels. One stuck in his mind had curly rear end !!! and a fancy head badge......
