Damn man you really don't like Miche - what did they do kill your family or something? Are you biding your time before a deadly and bloody swoop on their presumably understaffed and badly maintained Italian headquarters? ;-)

Miche are a hit or miss sometime, they're a very good product however it's downside is that certain part are made of cheese, like the miche lockring, the bolt for the chainring, the sealant aren't exactly protecting the bearing from the elements, etc.
But they are good netherless, a full miche groupset run very very smoothly, with those kmc chain, even more.

ED: Don't forget the flanges on the hubs.
They basicly make bollocks taiwanese shit, with their Italian name and charge more.
-
• #14883
Oh they're alright but then you are better off getting the cheaper System EX/generic one, or get the Condor one which are similarly priced, they are also great value for money.
-
• #14884
You well bum condor ed.
Condor ones don't have the cut outs so are heavier :P -

Hi,
I've been a long time lurker and happily used the mine of information that is this forum to assemble my current fixie. Previously I was riding a Dolan track frame until it cracked then replaced it with an old steel frame that a friend had, which I then had resprayed.
Last week I replaced the chainset with the one you see now - I reckon the bike is 'finished'. The frame was a Cycles Dauphin 531 frame, rear wheel is open pro on Goldtec, front is Open Pro on Ultegra, chainset is Sugino 75. Front and rear brake because on one of my routes I have to go down a pretty hairy hill and value the additional controlled stopping power!

I'm have only good experience with Miche.. Only have a set of low flange hubs, and a set of high flange.. and the BB (and didn't use that for a very long time yet)... seems fine to me.
I don't see the problem with the flanges? perhaps it's because my hubs are a bit older? Is it only the new Miche that is supposed to suck?
btw, I am looking to buy a used set of 165mm Primato cranks for my RiGi Bici-Corta... this design here:

silver or black... and with the smaller logos (they are bigger on the newer ones I think). -

I was told that Miche could be an alternative to campag in some instances, but it sounds like its not the best. I am building up a SS from a bike bought on ebay and it came with campag cassette hubs. I can't seem to find a cog that will fit, they all seem to be shimano pattern and I am trying to avoid buying new wheels as it would blow my budget. Any thoughts?

Mmmmm, chocolate...
Ignore them. Miche-haters are generally people who've had bad experiences with Italian cuisine.
