  • No it's got a brake, it just blends in with the wall.

  • ...

  • Ok ok, no it doesn't.

  • Nice Bob Crispy

  • CMC: you failed in making a non bling bike! :(

Crisp: what gearing you rolling? cog looks massive...

  • CMC: you failed in making a non bling bike! :(

That's what I was thinking, it's so pretty though.

...okay time for me to get polishing!

  • This one not as bling, more understated to try and avoid too much attention.

A mixture of Campy, Phil, H+Son, Nitto and Brooks.

    hmmmmm not as much bling!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?1?!

Ha ! I meant non bling as sticking out too much in a selection of locked up bikes near a pub. Looks quite plain and simple....
    Thieves are like magpies !

    53 / 20, so only 72

  • I'm completely hopeless at photography, but here's my attempt

I've just realise you're still running on the same heavy wheelset off the bianchi pista!!

I fucking love that build make, it's gorgeous and such an excellent choice of colour.

  • Cheers buddy, yeah my finances kinda ran dry. I want to sell the bianchi with those wheels, so the next immediate plan is Rigida rims and a hub set from TdV (or the forum if anyones got a set if campy hubs going), then use the expertise of the forum to build them up without paying shop prices. God bless LFGSS!

    pikes on Crocs

  • Thats a really nice job you've doen with the BJ there Crisp. Thumbs up.

Cheers for the kind words about mine too.

  • Nice Crispo :-)

  • Welcome to the club Mr Glover! Looks awesome.

  • Chucked this together for a final ride before selling the frame.
Man, I wish I hadn't killed the original fork.
Obviously weird bar/stem combo but pretty fun to ride.
    Oh, and a preemptive oscc.

    Hi my friends,

A few week ago I was built my first singlespeed bike. Major parts are used, some very old (front hub ESKA from 1963, Favorit bars from 1975), coaster brake Velosteel (ex- Velamos) is new, but technology same that Fichtel-Sachs, and it working very good (braking effect like a speedskating :o) Tufo tubes (8-12atm) are very shark and quick (absolutely not for Roubaix..) and stem... stem is sweet Cinelli 1A. Gear ratio for Prague hills 43/16 - not problem.

    thank you for inspiration!!!

    Good effort Zdenek.

blimey, your saddle have a habit of changing colour!

    netherless this is my favourite kind of set-up, easily comfortable even for big mileage, remind me of this bike;

  • My BJ as it stands today.

I plan to, when I have spare money next, build up some 27" wheels that match and fit the frame better so a) it'll look a little less tacky and b) I can get a better brake on the front, as good as the Alhongas are, the legs are so long on them they can't help but twist under hard braking basically cancelling out any toe in resulting in mad squeals. Saves money on a bell/horn though I suppose.

Maybe some of these with just some System Ex or similarly priced silver hubs.

Oh and maybe a shorter stem, drops are a bit of a stretch but I got to Brighton ok as it is.

  • check the on-one hubs actually they're cheaper and just as good.

  • cheers Ed, not done much research as I am nowhere near buying them. Rode a rear System Ex before it got nicked and it seemed pretty reasonable for the price but will definitely look into the On-one.

Nice build! i like the idea of the coaster brake. It gives the brakeless look with the safety of a brake! :)

I'm pretty sure I saw this bike being carried out of BLB last week, and my knees nearly gave way, nice build.

I know coaster brakes have their fans but I couldn't stand to have that as my only form of braking.

  • Some seriously nice bikes on this page!

  • /attachments/13416New build, just finished it today and took it out for a first ride, very satisfying - meant to be my daily beater, but might be just a bit too nice...
