after a cup of coffee and staring at my screen endlessly i figured out that:
it will be f*cking difficult to wrap the vinyl-decals around the down- and seattube without causing any overlap! You can always cut back the overlap afterwards, but i would mean cutting on the frame which isn't so great. If there is 1mm of overlap on the under side of the downtube you won't be able to see it and if the vinyl is really thin (if it's the same stuff i use) then you will hardly notice it anyway. Use masking tape or something low tack to mark where it needs to go and use the inside edge as a guidline. It looks a millions times better reverse cut out of the block, IMO.

Well, its for a current project OK.
Want to get the Tomassini road bike finished and in the enviable position of having to choose between a Campag Shamal tubular wheel set or Campag hubs laced to Atlanta 96 rims. Both 8 speed, both decent nick.
If I use the shamals I have to ditch the white tyres.
Which to choose...
....for this bike
(Its had a few changes since the picture, white cables, silver bottle cages and green bar tape that matches the frame)

Shamals.
Then sell me that wheelset.

Shamals, and then sell the Atlanta rims for a mint.

Unless Andy buys them...

What, the ones that are on the bike?
Athena hubs to cxp22's
Yours if you want them.
Got some silver CXP33 to chorus 8 speeds too.

Yes, the ones on the bike. I want a pair of low profile clincher wheels with 8 speed Campag hubs.

Cool.
Yours when I get sorted.

hey,
Just purchased this bike on egay. Want to make it singlespeed but don't know where the hell to start + i'm an epic Luddite when it comes to making stuff. Anyone got recommendations of bike shops (my lbs are pirates) that take on refurb/conversion jobbies? And also what sort of cost would I be looking at? I'm happy keeping it rough and ready so no need for a paint job.
Ok, so i've given it a go myself. My brother helped me fit a singlespeed back gear with spacers and I've put new wheels on it but i've spent all day trying to fix the brakes and well...it's beyond me.
Can anyone recomend anyone (or a shop) who could do a quick refurb job on this bike to get it road worthy?

i once wanted to outline the lugs of a frame too, but i didn't dare.
it's an old raleigh team professional powdercoated in RAL 1019:the only thing i want to add to the frame are these decals:
the 'RALEIGH' on the downtube the 'TI' on the seattube and of course on the forkblades. that's all. any other suggestions?
effing awesome.
awwwwwww!!

finally finished the lo pro
for those who don't know lo pros are uncomfortabe as hell, but with the bars turned up its actually very nice indeed.
will probably upgrade the cranks eventually (as flickwg so politely pointed out) but im rarther skint at the moment so they will do for the time being
i actually wanted it to be more of a mango orange, but im happy with how it turned out so its alright

Crane: Sweet tits. Looks good.
re: bars. As a long time lo-pro user, with quite a height gap between saddle and bars, I can strongly recormend having the bars like in the second picture, but turning 'em so that the ends are poiting just shy of straight up. Like the letter "J". Its really quite comfy. I've found near verticle horns the colution to the small amount of hand based discomfort caused by a low-pro. The top one is just silly. May as well not have a lo-pro IMHO...Ed: Its a mother fucking lo-pro! What's the point in having one if its isn't lo?

also while im here what is best for doing lug lining?
decals coming in august

• #12997
P.S. Silver cranks and a new all black tub will make this the dogs bollocks.

. The top one is just silly. May as well not have a lo-pro IMHO...
well the benefit is i can still use the bottom bits when i've got a massive headwind and for a leasurly ride it is still comfy
im gonna try my nitto bullhorns out tomorrow, but im most likely gonna keep the bars turned up its still pretty low

I agree but due to lack of funds i will probably wait until i upgrade the cranks on the everyday bike then take those ones and will get a gumwall for the back wheel also

mate, have you thought of flipping the stem upside down? the clamp part I mean, it doesn't have to be under the stem.
little change like that would make a difference, best way to increase the height of the bar without looking awkward.
Wrap around decals always have overlap (just very few with a small gap, say 1mm).
Nothing that fits perfectly.
But who cares if it's at the bottom or backside?
The latest solution is nice as well, but as already mentioned, I would go for a smaller seat tube TI logo. Same size as on the forks.
Great frame set.
