custom steel with bigger tyres (not too big mind) is the answer to all your Sunday best questions.
Think you're bang on the money there. Lightweight steel frame, carbon fork, 32mm tyres and discs/rim brakes I'm not bothered sounds like a winning combo.
@amey we look forward to seeing you in the motorcycle thread

What you thinking of buying?

my first bike was a 2 stroke Kawasaki 125cc; this one, I started riding it when I was 15
Then I had a couple of Hondas and a Royal Enfield Machismo 350 Drum brake:
Then when I came to the UK I exploited a loophole in licensing and got a Bandit 600 for a year; insurance was a bomb with London postcode.

I bet that 2 stroke was fun to ride!!

I think hydro disc is 100x better than rim brakes, but calipers definitely “add character” and are adequate on a summer bike. If I was going full custom (this frame was one that a customer never paid for/collected that fit me) I reckon I would go disc (I’m heavy and Yorkshire is hilly) the ride is a perfect balance between my gravel bike, and my old donohue road bike, (all 3 are 853 with carbon fork)

Lovely bike, just tell me that you would not have chosen this colour way.

I wouldn’t have chosen the custom lugs either but yeah, can’t argue that the paint doesn’t suit the lugs.

Not now, not then. The JDM 200cc versions (which you can also assemble fairly easily from a 125 and a parts kit) are so much better.

That does look great for home or a workshop. A bit big to carry on a bike.
