  • Try the syntace ones. They come in 25.4 and are slim and beautifully simple stems.. light too if you care about that.

  • Finally got round to riding my new Woodrup build and it’s an absolute dream. 853 with Whisky carbon fork, R7000 groupset, 32c GK+ tubeless at 60psi. Responsive, smooth, quick handling. Best bike I’ve ever ridden. #DBAD

  • Great to hear! Slightly gravelly route?

  • Only a little bit, down a Roman road at the top of Horsforth. I was relieved to find some kind soul had cleared the thorny bushes - not been down for years, wasn’t sure what to expect.

  • It do deserve some nicer wheels and tires, but rides quite well as it is.

  • so fresh and so clean!

  • It seems harder to find 25.4mm stems! Hadn't thought of trying without a shim, will give that a go before I try anything else, would like to use this stem if possible!

  • Threw some new paint on the old CDF, put some old tan wall riddlers on and some 9spd ultegra octalinks.

Not a bad for a days work and under £15 revamp.

  • Nice build, what bars?

  • Best bike I’ve ever ridden

Dibs etc. Seriously though looks awesome fun.

  • I think its also the best bike you have built (so far) ;)

  • Get a proper shim. I have always used Nitto cos they're reasonable on trade, but I'm sure there are cheaper ones - I haven't had any problems with them as they're two part and rigid unlike beer can shims.

  • The classic on one marys! Great bars.

  • I need help... struggled massively to get these tyres on, obviously damaged both tubes in the process as some brute force was needed and now I can't get bloody things off again now. Any suggestions before I lose it and sack off the whole bike

  • to get them off? cut through the sidewall and bead with wire cutters

  • I imagine he is after a less destructive method?

  • I imagine he is after a less destructive method?

    Cut the rims.

  • I imagine he is after a less destructive method?

Throw the wheels and tyres away, buy new ones

  • more seriously, why would you want to keep tyres that are a pain to get on and impossible to get off

  • Lots of swearing and two pretty damaged tryes later I now have a finished bike 👍

  • Sometimes it’s that rim/tyre combo. People still seem keen to use Gatorskins.

(I’m in a similar situation and one snapped tyre lever later I’m not happy. Doesn’t help that my girlfriend has pointed out the rims are hideous plus the shop laced up shraeder valve ones for some unknown reasons so vested interest...)

  • I genuinely expect this will be the last project, aside from adjustments to existing fleet I’m set. So happy I finally have your approval

@jambon custom steel with bigger tyres (not too big mind) is the answer to all your Sunday best questions. I won’t be selling this but if you fancy one of your own you can contact me at Woodrups 😉
