VeLLo that's a lovely bike.
@tallsam
if you order the bagman rack thing, beware that it may make a clunking sound when you go over bumps (mine does). I thought the grub screws that grip it into the clamps weren;t done up properly, and fucked up the allen holes in the tops of them trying to do them up super tight. the sound actually comes from the thick steel wire knocking against the holes in the clamp. So... undo the grubs carefully, pull out the loop, and wrap something around the ends of it that'll make it snug in the clamp. I have managed to slide little bits of vinyl (from tool packaging) into the gap around the wire, with it assembled, but if I could do it all again this is what I'd do. -

Ta Mr SF.
I have both risers and bullbars already. So either one of these will do or buy some drops. Decisions, decisions.
As for the wheels am going real cheap...ahem
If I can find them in stock, this
Just checked and found out that rim is a 26".
What a muppet I am! Off to source another or go down the Velocity route! -

Hi!
Just back from France where I collected my first real track bike ever.
It's ready to ride, although I want to do a couple of things... Pedals are not really track like, and I need to find some french threaded ones, that might not be easy... I've been there recently...
It needs new sprocket and chain. I will also put another stem, as I have got the very same one but a bit shorter and in natural aluminium finish, which will be more my size and will look better I guess, and, at the same occasion put some track drops I am using now on another bike of mine...
I an not a great fan of the colour scheme, but I will probably keep it as it is, just to "respect the history of the bike" (I might change my mind on that!)Szia

I have a feeling this was on ebay about 18 months ago, lovely bike...

Nice bike. Loic. Are you planning to ride it on the track?

Finally went to see Scherrit did you?
I did but it had nothing to do with TT bikes. That comes from my wealth of knowledge that I so freely share with this pile of miserable sooky newbs and bitter old forum grumblers..

Could go for the white DT Swiss 1.1s from Starbike.com for lightness/strengh/comfort. But if your willing to drop the white, IRD niobium rims look the biz.
Cadence 390g
Aero (30mm deep) 465g

Starbike only have the 1.1s in 28H and they're only available in white for 28H. Remember now why they weren't on my list.
Need a 32H, off to search. Maybe Velocity Aerohead (95gm lighter than Deep V) Hmmm -

I met the guy I bought it from, real nice guy, and he got it new in the 80s, he used to race with it... So it must have been another one, unless he tried to sell it before and it did not work...

hi guys,
just finished this so i suppose its not a 'current project,' but still feels kind of current to me. I got the frameset off of marcola. I suppose if he keeps selling everything he buys we could all get new frames. :) Still thinking about drops and if so which ones but have gone for risers for the minute.
Cheers

Nice bike. Loic. Are you planning to ride it on the track?
That was the plan, yes... Last time I went on track was 2 years ago, with a Langster, I went just a few times with a friend but gave up as that friend started working on saturdays and I couldn't be bothered going on my own... that's how lazzy I've been... I have to be better than that this time...
