  • dmc that is bloody georgous what do you know about these frames ?

This one keep coming up on ebay

no-one has bought it yet as the reserve is $1,000 +

But it is NOS and it has crimped tubes and I bloody love it

I was thinking of buying it and saving for a rainy day

But I am up to having four bikes already ....;)

  • What's the saddle ? Looks nice in a kind of 'you can't get these any more' kind of way ????

it's a bio turbo - I've got one in black and white too, only mine is knackered whereas SB's looks NOS....they go for about fifty quid on ebay.

  • dmc two questions ?

    what are you riding now

    & are you an american?

  • my first post:

hi, i'm a roadie but fixie curious....
I have a colnago master frame that i wish to build up as a fixie. I have done a fair bit of research but was wondering if u lot could help with a few queries.

firstly, i am thinking of using white industries eno crank but they don't come in a 165 length...why would that be? for cornering clearance, isn't it desirable to have a short crank length...or aren't the eno for road use?

  • my first post:

    hi, i'm a roadie?

    No one's perfect!

I've got a White Industries Crank but have it on a Bianchi Pista. As it's a track frame the BB is higher, so clearance is not an issue. It's fine for road use and I know that Big Daddy Wayne has one on a Singlespeed set up (but it is also on a track frame).

I can't help on whether it'll be ok for your Colnago. If it's not you can always keep the crank and sell the frame to me ;)

Welcome and enjoy your new build.

  • @buddha, that is gonna be a sweet bike

  • Nice Buddha, can't wait to see it in the flesh

  • apparently the road cranks are available in 165....hmmmm...
unfortunately the graphic's not as cool as the eno.

    eno

    road

im using the eno offset hub with shamal wheels....well i'm hoping i can!

  • unfortunately the graphic's not as cool as the eno.

Are you sure you're a roadie?
With comments like that you sound like a fully fledged Fixed Gear Hipster :)

    Shamal wheels, nice!

  • my current collection consists of:
'86 bianchi Reparto Corse with record and delta brakes

winter bike: cannondale caad 9 with a mix of sram force and bits n pieces...i am running a SCOR fork with disc brake...awesome in the wet

race bike: cannondale super six ultmate with red group and soon with lew clincher wheels with tune hubs- 6.7kg (not bad for a size 60)

so i'm thinking the next bike is to build a fixie out of my master frame...

how do ya post images that are on my puda?

  • hmmm...i have to create an album first??

just tried to upload a jpeg but it tells me its not a valid image....?

    any tips?

or are my functions limited cos i'm a new member?

  • Best to put that list and images in the Names and Faces thread. Also good place to introduce yourself.
Expect to get flamed with all the Roadie stuff, but it's all good.
Make sure you tell all that you're building a 'Fixed'. That way they'll use smaller stones ;)

Thread below tells all about posting photos

  • hmmm, me likey cannondale

  • ta!

  • Colnago Pursuit/Hour Record frame with a mix of Record/C-Record and Super Record. Thinnest seat post in the world - 20mm. The extremely steep front gives alarming oversteer a very low speed, but other than that rides beautifully. Fantastic Oval CX tubeset and bottom bracket lug.

Big shout to Robin and the boys at London Fields Cycles for the tweaks.

  • Nice work - what's the rear wheel?

  • A friend of mine has that exact same frame. He bought it off ebay for a song.

  • Ah, I wonder if that is the person who I brought if off.

Rear wheel is a Shamal Track

  • OK, so it's a heavy beast with crappy hubs etc, rust all over the frame and forks, rusty steel front wheel and fugly tyres, but hey, it's a *project. *I do love the old school brakes. Will post pics again when it's less of an eyesore.
(And as you can tell, my camera's about the same quality as the bike).

    That sure be nice.
Only thing I would change is the bars. But it's your ride, and what do I know.
    It's a 650 on the front, right?

Rear wheel is a Shamal Track
I think he still has it but I could be wrong. He lives in Kingston.

I looked at the rear wheel and thought, that's not a Shamal. FAIL!

  • Yes, I think that was the bloke - I picked up the bike from his folks place, but I seem to remember him mentioning Kingston.

It is indeed a Shamal track on the rear. Thats a FAIL, FAIL.

  • I'm thinking how good that would look with white powder coated TT bars
