who on earth told you your legs are ever so slightly shorter for your age????
My legs are slightly shorter for my height, not age bro. And Jeff at Mercian told me, when he was measuring me up for a frame.

Blisters, and broken wood, ouch, hope someone has the tweezers ready if it isnt laminated!

a wooden seatpost is pretty much the dumbest idea i have ever heard.
and even worse is the fact it just looks like cheap broomstick wood, wich aint exactly strong.
good luck.
you'll need it. -

As Eddie says SS to start so she can get used to spinning in one gear then she is going fixed which will be just a change of wheelset.

@jabbathehut
Did you go into your local hardware store and ask for a 27.2 broom?

Out of interest, why not a flip-flop?

It's a bit of an on going project, but i think i'm pretty happy with it now. I need a new seat post, the saddle keeps moving but apart from that i think it's looking alright for my beater.

:D Aha!
Seriously though, the current project thread makes me want to look into old bikes, frames etc, ASM pm'd me a nice one earlier, just need to talk about it with someone, after trying out Soul's ladybike...

So I've built up my Orrell and I've been riding it around - and it's lovely to ride :)
Not finished yet, need to wait for Mack to finish making my hubs (set of black high flange superlights with blue lock rings/washers) so I can get my wheels built - think it's going to be black open pros and black nipples. Until then I'm riding on the wheels from my Flyer. Probably needs a black chain really too, how impractical...
I've got some metal blue Fizik bar tape I'm thinking of fitting to match the saddle/bars, but not completely decided on this yet. Any thoughts on to wrap or not to wrap, or half wrap, appreciated.
Holy Chr*st, thats amazing.

A couple of reasons the wheel set I have has Miche hubs single side,and If i did have a flip-flop I would be the one flip-flopping it all the time,I don't think the other half would get the hang of putting the correct tension on the fixed,plus she just wants to jump on it and ride on her own now and again.
