Will keep that in mind for future reference, thanks :) I was wondering how tight they should be mounted since the locknuts look smooth and not very grippy but I don't want to overtighten them and damage the allen bolt or the threads. Do yours have the mavic logo embossed? I read that not all of them have it.

Where do the disc brakes go?

Finishing stage..
The more I work on it, the more I think I should just varnish it, with its apparent defects..

Winter is coming, sadly. So I’ve spruced up the winter bike! Switched to 1x11 and tidied a few other things up.

Mudguards? Unless it's a turbo bike ..

Of course. I need to replace the Gravelkings with road tires before they will fit, however.

Need to drop the bars by 20mm. I like the stem so need a 5mm bearing cover/spacer to replace the 25mm conical one.

When do the brake cable lols start?
-
• #116716
Haha. I’ve dremelled out the bb cable guide and I reckon it’ll work. But I’ve got other bits to get first. Handlebars, saddle, cranks, chain etc

Why does it say "Project 76" on it?
-
• #116718
Coz it was Dammit’s and that’s his birth year I’m guessing

Some gear cable lols to be had in the Cannondale thread though

do yourself a favour and get some Juin or TRP cable hydros. Spyres are shit.
-
• #116722
Meh, got em now. As long as they’re better than rim brakes, that’s fine

other people like them and get them to work. I cannot possibly understand how

I am thinking about doing something with this frame. I was going to use these forks, but Imight make some new ones and give them all the mounts.
Plan is currently 1" aheadset, 1x10 SRAM groupset, dropbars, canti brakes, rando rack, mudguards and new paint (or maybe keep ratty). This will be an homage to @Paradroid s Donhue ting, but less offroad. -

They take a bit of learning but very good once theyre working. Mine are great even though Im still on the shit stock pads
@PhilDAS pm me when you get round to setting them up and I'll give you some tips to try save you some time. Spyres are great for the money just a little finickety at first
32 front and 36 rear, as they are sealed bearing is quite impossible to kill them, original Mavic bearing are ace, but if they're done, pick up some high quality one from General Bearing or equivalent, and your good for another decade..
