I thought it was a drop bar at first, it would be cool to run it like one!
-
• #11607

Was that a Neil Orrell frame? I can't make out what's left of the decal marks but looks suspiciously like mine...
finally got this piece back from ted (dropouts changed brake holes filled front and back and braze ons removed)

Love the singlespeed tricity. That stealth BMW further up is rather nice too.

I wish i knew. all it has on it is Rad Sport which according to Jos of TDV was an old german racing team. i have no idea what frame it is but would love to know
on the BB shell is NA 27 90 if that helps

Yep - pretty sure that's an Orrell - I can tell by the BB shell number - they all start (as far as I know) with NA. Neil (still) makes frames from his shop up in Manchester (631 these days), it's impossible to find anything out about him online but give him a call on 0161 681 1517 and give him the frame number and he'll tell you when it was made.
Every track Orrell frame I've seen (so far) is triple triangle, but it's hard to see any online - do a google image search for neil orrell bike or similar and you'll see what I mean.
Mine is blue and yellow like yours but it doesn't have fades - it's a late 80s/early 90s track frame. The blue and yellow are in different places though. But entwidomela has this:
I wonder if it really made it to Germany? Interesting that triple triangle road Orrell's exist.

Possible next bike project. Any advice/Tips for a n00b/newbie here? :)

Possible next bike project. Any advice/Tips for a n00b/newbie here? :)52cm frame.. possibly too big? You did say you were short.
Depends where they measured too. -
• #11615
she's 5'5, so I think it does fit her.
-
• #11616
Pre-singlespeeding it was worth 50-60 quid tops.
Spent a little on new chain and cables, then a bit of work to clean and SS it.. I would offer 100. -
• #11617
I've already mailed offering 120?
-
• #11618
Thats a good start.
When you go and see the bike, have a look closely for 'defects' to reduce the price more...
Rust spots, old tyres, worn brake pads, little things like that. It's just like buying a car, everything that is not 100% perfect as new is a point for negotiation. dirty saddle, scratched pedals, wobbly wheels... etc.

Eeek, this makes me want to drag someone with me now!

Take EdScoble; by the time he's finished pointing out it's defects the owner will end up owing you money:)

Hehe, he's the one who linked me this bike :P

That has probably gotten our Ed in loads of bovver with the trouble and strife. ;)
By the way, I have a 52 and a 54 cm bike, and feel the 52 is the nicer size. I'm 5'8"-5'9".
Depends on how LdnGrrl rides. Sit up straightish, or aggressive lean-over. I'd say a 50cm would be right, but a shorter stem will also work.
