I want an NJS Bridgestone. This is my project. I'm thinking about not spending any more money on bikes and just saving up until I can afford one. Then just look at it while I save for the parts for it. I might just win the lottery instead of saving though, would be easier.

Hello, relatively new here (I think the only thing I've posted is in the stolen thread, unfortunately).
Anyway, did a quick one day conversion on this Raleigh for my daily rider until I get my insurance money through. Nothing special and the gear ratio is a bit ridiculous at the moment, but it gets me to work and cost pittence.

Hey BoBoB, what are the tyres on that dame?
-
• #11365
To be honest, i'm not entirely sure!
I found them on eBay somewhere, they are/were made in sri lanka... cost me £20 i think....

Spot on wibble :)

Are there any advantages to having bake cables running through grips, or as in BoBoB's fantastic build, looping round like that?
Or is it dependent on the brakes, mine don't have the cable coming out through the top..

After posting that I clicked your link to the other pictures and noticed the Albert Memorial in full view but I promise you I got it just from the original 2 pics you posted in here :)

Where do you get those tyres.
There's a good guy here in cambridge who sells those tyres for £10 or £12 per one. Which is considerately cheaper than http://www.theoldbicycleshowroom.co.uk/schwalbe-700-x-35c-cream-retro-roadster-racer-tyre-854-p.asp
if you ever in Cambridge, give University Cycles a visit, the guy will always give ya a great deal on things like innertubes for £2 per pack and decent bar tape for £3

The Lavoro - all built for t'track and used on t'track
Damn those are some good wheels you have on there ;) How are they holding up?
This is my current project:
Not sure about the radial front, but you cant have the Chub built any other way imo.
Also not sure about the saddle/position and the bars... risers drops or bullhorns will all go.Rear rim is a Rigida Dp 18. Not a velocity. (note too self: take velocity sticker off now)

Here's a couple of pics of the new Somec - not sure how this will go together yet, lean and comfortable are the priorities.

how do you like the OP ceramics? how's the braking power?
I've only been for a short test run so far and then another slightly longer ride once I adjusted/tightened everything but so far, the braking power seems good, but no better than a good pair of normal machined rims. I think the ceramic coating is likely to give a much longer lifespan though.
(Also, I'm using the Dia-Compe Gran Compe brake lever which doesn't have the same braking power or control as a conventional lever and it's only a Veloce caliper which is hardly top of the range!)
I have some noodle bars if you're interested.
