  • @ir I was worried someone was going to say that..

I would like new parts this time I've threaded a campag chain set (used) in the past :/ and there's nothing like brand new wheels..

I was looking at da but parts were just adding up. I'll do some digging and see what's out there.

  • Putting both spacers on the DS BB cup was actually step 1. When I torqued everything up, the cranks wouldn't spin. And by not spin I mean, I had to put serious effort to get any movement in the cranks. I spent most of that evening consulting internet wisdom about GXP cranks and the way Sram cranks work and came to the same conclusion about facing the NDS BB shell. Which will not be happening as the frame is a Sickfadez M600.

    And yes, I ordered a GX1400 instead. :)

  • Fair enough :)

  • 47km on the MTCX yesterday, cleaning & lubrification time this morning. Definitively happy with this set-up

  • Very tidy. Looks fun.

  • That's pretty much what I want for commuting/fun duties.

    Looks sick

  • Bike looks awesome. Moto-CX ought to be a thing!

  • 2X 11 Simplex retrofriction
    awesome ride
This bike is going to stay in parents house for holidays

  • I had a similar frame (lighter blue colour and aero tubing) and I bought it end nineties (1998 or 1999). It was one of the first "noname" frames that came on large scale from the far east. They were really top range frames and Easton was one of the most popular producers of aluminium tubing. They didn't have their own bike line so most got "finished" with decals of LBS's and local brands.

  • original paint indeed, @gitabitan

  • @edscoble Have you had success with Jtek Shiftmate 9 and Shimano 11 speed road, 11spd road rear and 9 speed cassettes; or maybe even better with the Shiftmate 1 with 11 to 10 speed.

  • I haven't tried, only the 11 speed Campag wirh 9 speed Shimano that work well, abet a little stiff.

  • Alright, will do a rethink.

  • Much love for this bike. Some silver SRAM force cranks would look better imo though. Treat yourself to some full hydro brakes too as you're running flat bars, it'll be worlds better.

  • Built this beater up at the weekend, well under £200 thanks to some bargain hunting.

I may put a front rack on, maybe a break, maybe a disc fork and brake..who knows.

  • nice. what is the frame?
Want my new black Wald basket?

  • For free? Sure.

If not, I dont need to spend any more on this really, I've a rack I can use that will be fine. Its meant to be a cheapo built.

  • Thank you for the info.
The Easton sticker is under the lacquer.

I will ride it to see how good it is!

  • The stem seems more closed at the bottom bolt than the top one.
Have I fucked the carbon steerer? I have used a torqkey.

  • Stem design looks stupid, could be that?

  • Have I fucked the carbon steerer?

If you haven't gone mad with the torque, it's unlikely. Probably just an unlucky coincidence of a steerer that's at the low end of the tolerance range and a stem which is at the high end. As long as you can't barspin without moving the wheel, everything is good :)

  • Thanks. I just checked with an inpromtu feeler gauge/ sheet of paper and the pinch hasn't bottomed out.
    I'll be fine I guess.

  • Bike is full of win. Looks great and must be a lot of fun. Well done. As Spotter said get some hydros you won't regret it.

  • Are these fat tyres on that Oval Master? How the hell are they fitting on this track frame? Am I missing a trick? Pretty epic!
