I never look at the tread direction when I'm putting on a tyre because it makes not a blind bit of difference which way the tread is facing. I'm more concerned with getting the damn thing over the rim!
I dont think he was mentioning the tread (which, you're right, does not make a difference with slick tyres) but the non-lined up stem and logos. It's generally a good idea to do this so if you get a flat it's easier to find what punctured your tube. and it generally makes things look cleaner.

Watch this space :)It looks suspiciously like a break away? Didn't know they did one with track ends.

A week? One second is too long. Suicide. You have no way of stopping.

It sure is. Commuter on the train bike. I didn't know they did them until Mr SmallFurry put me onto it.

almost there my major taylor tribute / guvnor / path racer. cones in the rear wheel need adjusting and front brake tweeking. with hide food and friction the brooks b17 saddle should gain a nice rosey patina.
many thanks to peter carver and his private cycle jumble

That's nice Rob. It needs a silver quill stem but that apart looks good.

i can't really find a hell of a lot of info them, the previous owner was very helpful though, he even gave me all the christmas cards he has been receiving from them since '82 when he got it.
he's told them that it has moved on to me now, so i look forward to my first christmas card!

hell yeah, i've got one on it's way from eyebrows. it came with a 140mm (?!?!), and that shitty black one was all i had.

Even an orang-utan alike like me doesn't need a 140 mm stem. Did the previous owner's knuckles scrape the ground as he walked?
