Your choice would be whether to waste all the money on wheels, or whether to get a decent pair for half the money and spend the rest on hookers and coke, or whatever it is you do with free money.

Factory or hand built? Do you want or need tubeless? Which end of the tyre spectrum are you optimising for? Should you really have asked in the right thread :) ?

It would be possible to make one using the expanding mandrel design, but nobody bothers because the people who want an adapter don't want to pay £50 for one. I can't see any good reason to select among the many generic ones which all use the same wedge expansion method. Check the length of the 1⅛" section and the transition to the ⅞" section if you intend to slam the stem, some of them need at least ½" from the bottom of the stem to the top of the headset lock nut.

Factory or handbuilt - don't mind. Being able to run tubeless seems sensible but not immediately necessary - it will be a road bike that I commute on, so most of it's time will have 28's or 35's on.

Two pairs of DT R24, 32C Marathon+ on one set for commuting and 28C Pro One (or 30C S-One if you like to road bike off road) tubeless on the others for Sundays. Wheels+tyres+spare Ultegra cassette comes to a total of about £560 from Rosebikes.

Got a flat on way out and one on way back on this, had to forgo a lovely river ride for the walk of shame to nearest station as was outta tubes
Pic fail again

This turned up in the post yesterday, Viner Stella Professional (pic sellers). Columbus SL tubing, mix of Campag, 3TTT, Galli, Gipiemme and Nisi parts.
A smidgeon too small, but nothing that a seat post with a bit more of extension won't fix. Maybe a longer stem, but i'd be loathe to ditch the lovely panto 3ttt stem.

I like the Galli levers and calipers, however the hoods on the leavers are a bit crumbly. Any options for replacements ? Replacement hoods for Campag levers seem a lot more readily available.

I wouldn't be surprised if Campag ones fit, I doubt whether Galli strayed far from a direct copy of the leading brand.

I've currently got this battery pack on the stem. It's a bit untidy. There's a lot of light cable there and I'd like to try and keep it all in something like a tool roll that's waterproof.
Stem is 120 - what tool rolls/saddle bags/waterproof things would fit and accommodate an external battery? and look sort of neat and tidy.
