I have to say my mothers bakewell pudding, with plum jam base (home grown/made) with fresh homemade custard is really one of the finer things in life
Can't do custard and bakewell but the frangipan looks perfect!

Looks like there will be a permanent meateasy/meatwagon opening in central London somewhere now that The Rye in Peckham is closing
edit recruiting for a late night diner

The Rye is closing? It was a good lil boozer until Meatwagon got in there and killed it...

it was a Covent Garden one, tomato pasta and meatballs, not bad actually. I've not tried nettle soup, whats it like? I could slaughter a bowl of wild garlic soup, wont be getting that till next year now though :(

Chunks of them are, bloody bruxism. You could fully washington it up with some wooden gnashers but think of the splinters in your gums

Good homemade nettle soup is absolutely delicious. I will try and make some next time you are in town or just send you a recipe
-
• #8643
You can make it haha, i'd probably get horribly stung knowing my luck
-
• #8644
eating around the stinging bits is the trick

I made soup tonight.
Basque style potato and onion. Instead of British style potato soup, this one is in a beef broth and all the ingredients are sliced very thinly and cooked with oregano and black pepper.
I use marmite instead of beef broth, but it's still lovely.

I also got naan from the naan bakery down the road. It's epic.

Apologies for NSFV images but Hugh FW's shin of beef with chilli ginger and soy was so good on a chilly autumn weekend. WIN.
Then after a few hours in a low oven with soy, apple juice etc....
