Very very late breakfast
Pint of jasmine tea, an apple, 1 passionfruit and a huge bowl of branflakes and bite-size shredded wheat.More 'oat'-cuisine than haute but a bloody healthy effort if I do say so!

My GF made the ricotta thing last weekend. Fresh but did not really taste of much (don't worry she agrees!) so we would recommend adding a bit of salt, pepper and lemon and maybe some chilli) to the mix. Worth doing though as it was dead easy.

Where did you get the milk from?
Oh and ricotta is a very subtle flavour, and requires some rest to get flavour.

Sausage, egg and crispy bacon muffins.
What muffin did you use as I find muffins quite heavy and dense are they supposed to be like that.

It was just whole milk from M&S. I'm sure some unpasteurised organic would make a difference but not that easy to find in Hackney. My Mum was saying that back when we had cows and she had gallons of raw milk the ricotta was really good eating.

I hear that! Fucking tight rope walk of cooking, fried eggs. Cook too long and its like a greasy lump of rubber.... don't cook it long enough.... snotty whites.

Seriously??? Its not that difficult! I have never ever fucked up a fried egg. Poached, sure. Boiled, pretty tough. Fried is a piece of piss!

• #7846
scrambled are the only thing I can do perfectly every time.
my frieds are getting better but not 100%, as are boiled.
poached are an enigma.

CYOA:
Small frying pan of water on hob, and splash of white wine vinegar and salt. Bring to the simmer/slow boil. Crack in poached eggs, skim of any gunk etc. wait until white is firmish and yolks still have give. Remove onto kitchen towel, blot top with kitchen towel. Enjoy. (you can time, but I do it by feel) you can do plenty of them at once this way, no vortex nonsense etc...
Still there for a little bit longer. I signed up for the "what we're doing next" email list.
South Carolina style pulled pork, Georgia style cole slaw and Bread and Butter pickles that were only second to my grandmothers. Black beans were great but an odd choice from an authenticity standpoint. Marvellous. Really.
PS - Pickle backs FTW.
