Walk to Charlotte street?

cyoa - you could always take a meander down charlotte street - i seem to recall quite a nice mediterranean place there that does a killer meze platter.
failing that it is meatball tuesdays at subway!
/edit - oh snap!

Umm....sorry, no can help. Apparently there's a place on Drummon Street that's good.

Charlotte Street is a winner. Thanks both. Always forget it. There's a place I used to go to that does awesome varieties of tequila with free nachos/dips.
That said, I'm not sure Mummy CYOA wants to have too much tequila. Or maybe she does.

la perla - down the oxford street end. it's a good un.

La Perla has been synonymous with beautifully crafted, sumptuously chic lingerie since its inception in 1954.
I'm not taking my mum there. -

well, quite!

it's for soft stuff that sticks. I would like it for cutting raw meat, not cooked meat. I would also one day like a cheese knife with the holes in it.
Not trying to be pedantic - Granton Edges aren't always a feature of Santokus are they? Its just the shape / length of the blade generally (less rock). Anywho - not to worry, it did a sterling effort of slicking my pork.

Methinks CYOAs junior and senior have buggered off to Pizza Express...
-

Few restaurants on Cleveland Street north end Melonbee Thai, Turkish, Greek and fish and chips cheek by jowl up there. London's best sushi joint corner of Drummond St and Hampstead road but only about 8 seats in there.

Cheers for all the suggestions.

I wish... Fucking love a pizza express, me.
As it turned out, we went here:
http://www.andreas-restaurant.com/
Greek-ish food - we had meze so basically about 4 large plates of lots of little dishes. All delicious, apart from tarama which I've never been fond of.
Technically I'm allergic to hummus but I tried it. Just because. And, although it made my lips swell a bit, it tasted great :)
The highlights though for me were the calamari and these little deep fried fish - not sure what they were. Looked a little like anchovies but whitebait size. Absolutely delicious.
In fact the whole meal was spot on. Perhaps a little bit too much iceberg lettuce as a bed for everything, but all in all, top and tasty nosh and really decent value. The two of us were stuffed including (non-alcoholic) drinks for less than 20 quid.
CYOA stamp of approval.

It's been a while since I've been on this thread. Last night we had MOC's home made Gravalax, made from a 3lb Trout that had been line caught by one of his friends at work. After filleting it, covering it in Dill and salt for a few days, then putting it in the deep freeze for another couple of days, we had it sliced with some rye bread, and new potatoes with dill.
I thought it would be a bit strong at first, but it's not at all - tastes like very good smoked salmon.

I have asked this before but does anyone have any Paris restaurant reccomendations? Our Christmas trip got cancelled due to the snow fail so this is our replacement trip. We are staying quite close to the Arc de Triomphe so wouldn't want anywhere too far from there (30 mins walk would be fine).
