  • YES! Its EVEN BETTER!

    This is great!

Thank you Williamshatnerpants. Get on it Superprecise. You wont regret it.

  • chedder and bar of Cadbury's fruit and nut...

  • I am lying in bed with a jar of peanut butter and a packet of hobnobs.

    haha nice one
thumbs up for the pb choice too, crunchy is always the right answer.

on that, does anyone have a peanut butter brand recommendation? i have been through five so far and can't find anything to compare to my australian favourite, the mighty kraft.
starting to consider having emergency supplies posted over.

it must have both salt and sugar in it, or i am not interested.

  • Breakfast...

Thick slice wholegrain bread, spread with raspberry jam, grated vintage matured cheese on top, under grill till it melts...

    Delish!

  • biccy side? a surprising choice. which side is then the top? or does it spin wildly forever?

    +1

  • Oh I remember, I bought them when you guys did Camber Sands. I didn't even keep a madeleine for myself.

I brought some carambars on the vintage jersey ride. They were very popular.

And I gave you some marrons glaces (candied chestnuts) on the Christmas ride.

I will need to think what French delicacy I will bring on the next ride.

    mi-cho-ko!

  • Erm, yeah - if you're pregnant! ;p

what the??? I dont think so :)

I just enjoy different food combination's, such is the spice of life!

  • I picked up some of this today...

But haven't got a clue what to do with it.

Anyone got any ideas? I want to cook something savoury, as I've never had chocolate as something other than a sweet before.

    Pint for the best recipe!

  • not really a whole dinner but a a really nice sauce to have with things

    Pasilla Mole

Ingredients serves 3-4 or 1 fatty

4 to 6 dried pasilla chilies (or other types of black, dried chilies)

    1 can chopped tomatoes
¾ cup (2 dl) chopped onion
    3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 cup (2.4 dl) chicken broth
    ¼ cup toasted sesame seeds
    3 tablespoons raisins
    ½ teaspoon ground cloves
    ½ teaspoon ground pepper
    ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
    ½ teaspoons ground coriander
    2 oz (60 g) bittersweet chocolate (70-85%)
    salt to taste

    • Soak the dried chilies in hot water until soft. Remove stem, remove seeds if you wish a mild flavor. Chop the chilies.
    • In a blender mix tomatoes, onion, garlic, chopped chilies, most of the sesame seeds, chicken broth, raisins and spices, and puree on high speed.
    • Heat the sauce, cook for 10-20 minutes while stirring frequently. Add chocolate. Add salt to taste, and more spices if needed.
    • Serve with chicken, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top; serve rice and salad with sweet peppers as side dishes.
  • Chocolate and savoury never works imo. All these tossers that make a chilli style sauce with it and serve with scallops, prawns and the like can get to fuck

  • In other news I bought some Mrs Bumbles 'Banoffee Curd' at the weekend from this place - http://www.mrsbumbles.co.uk/

    LUSH is not the word!

On oatmeal toast, mug of coffee.....ace!

I find that american peanut butter is much better than what i find here (probably as i grew up with american stuff)
I've never seen it around where i live but you might get it in London. I have to get my mum to get large amounts when she comes back from a america

    Wow.

    that sounds really good.

  • I'm beginning to see the benefit of veganism (maybe vegetarianism- though I don't think I added anything non vegan)
2nd tofu chilli made, unbelievably happy with the result.
Pulses, tofu, spices, tinned tomatoes, dave's insanity sauce
the overpowering taste of beef would have ruined it slightly.
(don't have a recipe as my way of cooking is: grab stuff, put in pan, taste, add spices, taste, decide its ok, add pepper, done).
oh and I've eaten too much I feel a bit bloated now, and there's still a full tupperware pot.

bit late now for dinner tonite but worth trying out ... not sure if you eat meat? scrap if you dont.

    Raspberry and Chocolate Lamb...

3/4 c red wine or port wine
    Lamb chops
    salt,pepper
    2 cloves Garlic
    1 sprig fresh rosemary
    2tb olive oil
    1 c Raspberries
1 tblsp Cacao powder or 120gms chocolate/sweet bitter or any chocolate equivalent

Mix all ingredients except lamb chops/ raspberries & choc in shallow glass or plastic dish or heavy plastic bag.

    Add meat

Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours turning lamb occasionally.
Remove lamb from marinade; reserve marinade.

Cook lamb on grill till desired then start sauce.

Heat reserved marinade, raspberries and choco ( mix cacao to a paste in a tiny bit of water if using powder) to boiling at medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Simmer about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce is reduced to half.

this is easy and so delish.
