Madhur Jaffrey's Indian Cooking is a long-standing staple. Mughlai lamb & turnip is one that I've recently been making relatively often.

Weirdly, if you watch her, you realise that she makes great recipes, but she's a terrible cook.

Took my elderly in-laws shopping today at a Morrisons in Gosport and the butcher counter had what I would estimate at 20-30kg of baby back ribs selling for between 19p and 25p a rack.

Ribs rock. There’s just something about meat on the bone.

I'm hoping you filled the freezer...

Paneer cheese, naan bread, achari pickle and a lentil dal - delicious.

It highlights how great the English are as a race - far too proud for linguistic accuracy or cultural sensitivity.

It must be a hugely amplified versiob of how much it grates me when Germans misappropriate English words like "Handy" and "Happy-End" (with additional racist and colonial vibes).

I honestly sniggered when my mate first moved to Trier and we were in a t mobile shop and the sales girl asked if we were looking for a handy.

I've tried to do my bit to make up for past wrongs by ordering from Saravanaa Bhavan.

I hate the word "Handy" so much. It's always pronounced "Hendy", too. I say "tragbares Telefon", even if it has three syllables more.
