....and the lamb was served with a pomegranate reduction

  • anyone made macarons before? about to try... could be a massive fail....

I made french macaroons this afternoon, fourth attempt (others failed in all the classic ways that macaroons can). This is the first time they've worked, very happy I figured it out at last. Orange flavoured shell, with orange dark chocolate filling:

    nom nom...

  • konijn you make some awesome looking food!

  • They look lovely!

  • Nothing so sophisticated here, meat balls, pasta, a bottle of dry white (maybe 3?) And Poirot on the Tele.... great food, rubbish repeats, ftw... am currently too fat to move!

  • Ive been caning the fish fingers of late. Fish fingers are a seriously understated food group.

Pickled onions, fish fingers & chips.

    Mushy peas, fingers & chips.

Fish finger, mayo & gherkin sandwich.

    So many possibilities.

  • totally agree, I go through phases of eating fish finger, mayo and gherkin sandwiches every day for about a week, realise its getting out of hand then forget about the deliciousness for a while, remember caine loads and the cycle continues. Now that you have reminded me...

    +1. all good!

Im very hungry. Going to eat at Bermondsey Kitchen.

  • No photos but yesterday I had wraps with:

    Chipolatas
    Caramelised red onion
    Moroccan hummus
    Fried tomato
    Grilled halloumi

    Damn they were good

  • plum/blackberry/gooseberry crumble.

not made it yet but will a bit later on.
i use oatmeal mixed with the flour and replace some of the sugar with honey as i try to lower the G.I. and not a fan of overly sweet foods.
i noticed they had some agave syrup in sainsburys and wanted to give it a try but it was nearly £4 for a squeezy tube so honey/brown sugar it is.

  • gooseberry is awesome.

  • also... blackberries can cock off.

  • cackberries

  • i forgot to say the gooseberries are purple ones.
    that's right you fucktard, PURPLE.

  • I picked up some red onion and fig marmalade on holiday and it's bloody gorgeous.

  • Hmmm figs. Anyone a fan of fresh figs?

Yes! We've planted a fig tree in the garden this year so we can grow our own.

  • Figs
yes. especially with wine and cheese.

i saved a cherry for you.

It takes a long time to get any edible fruit of a fig tree. Make sure you restrict the roots or youll just end up with a monster the sixe of your house and not a single fruit to show for it.

  • le mercury tonight. p00t!
