Food processors.
Burned out second mini Kenwood chopper thing this weekend.
Not too spendy but needs to be robust. Can make short work of stale bread to make breadcrumbs. Rapid coleslaw production also key. Would prefer to avoid a bazillion attachments I'll never use.
Talk to me.

Not really cheap but I have one of these that seems to live up to the Magimix quality (30 year motor warranty) but is reasonably priced and not that big https://www.magimix-spares.co.uk/product.asp?Prd=18240

Useful for making wild garlic pesto after the apocalypse.

Yes because the post zombie apocalypse will see a return to more seasonal foods stuffs. No pine nuts though.

made almost pulled pork last night, needed another hour, but hunger got the better of us, as we didn't start eating until 10pm, but had first time success with potatoes dauphinoise.
Tonight will be making a smoked haddock carbonara, which my work colleagues will not thank me for when I reheat it tomorrow lunchtime..also for the cheese bods on here, spent an afternoon tasting cheeses and then an evening eating cheeses from here

I got given some green pawpaw by a gardener mate last week, three had almost completely ripened by the time I got to them today... Peeled, cubed and mixed up with onion, garlic, chilli, ginger, sugar, cider, etc and in the fridge 'til tomorrow when the delicious smelling mess will be transformed into pawpaw chutney... Curries 'til it runs out...

went to this place on sunday afternoon,
http://www.flatironsquare.co.uk/about/
food court was closing/closed, menu's very south east asian/japanese, but didn't get a chance to sample it.. they had a ramen place so I'll definitely be back, especially as the exterior space is pretty welcoming.
only thing that I found annoying/disconcerting was the draught beverages only being served in schooners (two thirds of a pint), but costing close to pint prices... Felt cheated.. -

I have one of those and a Kenwood mini chopper and there is a world of difference between them in terms of quality and power.

That really pisses me off in bars/restaurants. It's a blatant money making scheme in the hope that people won't notice.

Schooners are weird... I still don't know exactly how much booze you get in one...

You can get £40 off the Annova water circulators which means they're £99. Very good value.

reminds me of when pizza express, made their pizza's smaller, but used smaller plates, thinking that people wouldn't notice the difference, and kept prices the same..

find I drink them too quickly, as they're not a pint, but I'm conditioned to drink at my normal pint pace, meaning I get to empty glass, whilst internally, not thinking I've drunk that much and then have to head to the bar to get another "pint" which then fucks with my whole drinking equilibrium..
Its not even like the weather over here requires smaller "pints" to preserve taste/coldness, and seems the government slipped this one in back in 2011

I have a quite regular Friday ritual before rehearsal... Finish work at 3, shower, grab guitar etc, catch 3.48 bus to train station, catch train into city and meet a couple of mates for a couple of $5 schooners at the Elephant Hotel happy hour from 5-6 then hit the CrowBar's Pint Party from 6-7 ($5 pints of Crowie lager), then catch Uber to rehearsal...
I don't know why I'm telling you this... #csb
