My chorizo is looking good. My chamber seems well inoculated as I didn't even spray these with anything.

Some times I am really jealous of you (borderline hatred) as you make such lovely food and wish I could come close. Actually that is a lie I wish I could eat the food.
Is food jealous is a thing.
Made a simple pasta sauce with quron the other day, girlfriend loved it. It was the blandest thing I have ever made. The quorn tasted of butter, that it was prefried in. I made her a sauce with boor and it taseted to meaty/gamey for her.

There is a place almost diagonally opposite the Rapha store on brewer St called Rice Wine Shop. All my Japanese friends say it is the best, cheapest Japanese supermarket in town.
I worked on warwick st for 3 years, that was my favourite place to buy lunch, either 3 or 4 trays of sushi for <£6 or I would just buy 2 or 3 random items and see what I got.
they also sell habanero crisps that are like thin hula hoops and are legitimately the best crisps in the world.

That supermarket is a little gem...

My favourite Japanese supermarket crisps are the nori with wasabi mayo on. Always spendy at >£2 a bag but fucking delicious.

bit late to this, but wasn't it the pub landlords marrying thai ladies?

• #24044
Not in my limited experience but you could very well be right!

Fry some nice bacon / panchetta when nearly done chuck in beans to warm and drain off excess fat, put in bowl add optional choppoed mint. A glug of nice olive oil also optional.
-
• #24046
Ahahah, really? Why? There are so many good cooks in this forum that it's all about admiring each other's creations, rather than going around being jealous!
More than happy to pass any tip/recipe/bit of knowledge to avoid being hated for something I love so much :)

That's cheating.
And a bit of an overkill.
But if you do so I'd add some chopped shallots and a good amount of freshly cracked black pepper. -
• #24048
We just mushed them up with garlic, mint and a bit of ricotta in the end. On toast. Was great.
-
• #24049
:) cheating and overkill but its nice ! will try the shallots and pepper next time.

Heading to Spain later today, will be bringing back plenty of pimentón and saffron. Dead cheap over there. Any requests?!
Best place to buy some nduja was looking at a few Italian delis in town but had no luck.
