  • your a massive crabs.

  • Maroush?

  • when i worked in rainham in the early 00's there was a greasy spoon cafe by the train station which was 50% fry-ups 50% thai food. their red and green curries were banging and at a fiver pretty decently priced. i think the owner's wife was thai.

  • I used to eat in the chrchill arms every week. The food is well priced and the "three butterfly" dishes are the spiciest Thai I've ever eaten.

    Recommended.

  • i stand corrected.

/still wouldn't order a lasagne with chips in a chinese restaurant.

  • have you gone off square foods as well now?

  • The Hour Glass and Rabbit - only eaten at Rabbit but pretty sure the former does decent grub

  • Bought a really nice marinated lamb leg steak at The Ginger Pig in Borough Market today, along with half a dozen of their posh italian sausages.
Rushed home to get them in the fridge, and they were nowhere to be seen. Obviously left them on the counter, or at another stall.
    Epic fail thread >>>>>>>>

  • drnuk?

  • not even drunk

  • I've got a couple of cook books for sale here if anyone's interested.

They're both about curing, preserving etc.

  • I did it again. I smuggled 40something artichokes, same as last month, but since these are at the end of the harvest, their size is much smaller, say half of the previous. I am going on a 4 days bikepacking trip over the weekend, so I definitely won't be eating all of them in the next 4 days.

PM if you want some and are willing to collect from EC1M/N5

Again, I'm not selling these, I don't want money for them

  • Trade! I`ll swap some home cured meat for a few artichokes! Happy to meet near Farringdon. Is that where you work?

  • Very happy with the trade! I work near Farringdon indeed, I'll PM you the details later

  • arseichokes?

    #betteroutthanin

  • I'm gonna keep half, the other half is available

  • Wot no square bowls?

  • My bad.

All available artichokes are sorted now.
    @jb000, @croft pending collection

  • Hit Mr Bao in Peckham at lunch today with family. Very, very, very, very delicious.

Going back after a 2 day fast next time.

  • Find myself in town sans bike, where can I get some of those packs of gyoza wrappers? Does the Japanese supermarket place on Brewer st, or the one at the end of Shaftesbury avenue towards Piccadilly Circus do them?

  • I'd assume so. I bought some (frozen) from the Asian supermarket at the Shoreditch high street end of Hackney Road. Would have thought they'd do them in any of the supermarkets in Chinatown too.

  • Any of the China town markets will have them and would have thought Japan centre also,

Thought the brewer st shop had closed ?

  • There is a place almost diagonally opposite the Rapha store on brewer St called Rice Wine Shop. All my Japanese friends say it is the best, cheapest Japanese supermarket in town.

They sell shiso and nabe, so they are great in my book.

  • Went to grab some osso bucco on Saturday morning with every intention of cooking it that evening. Didn't get around to it until quite late last night, but by 8.30 p.m. it was in the oven. Didn't fancy waiting 2 hours for it to slowly bubble away, so pulled it out after GoT had finished.

Thankfully didn't disappoint, wonderfully tender, and enough sauce left over to give myself fancy spaghetti for lunch every day this week.
    luxury/10
