I do, but never got round to the fish variety, as I'm usually not working from whole fish, hence the requests for fillet knife info.

reminds me, best fish soup i have ever had was in cervinia. weirdly fish in the land locked mountains. Those swedes know how to get it done.

We take bookings, but also keep plenty of space for walk-ins on our communal table, bar, kitchen counter and terrace (weather permitting).

I'm off to Spain on tour tomorrow, going to Alicante, San Sebastián, Zaragoza and finally Madrid.
Jesus Christ I'm excited.
Been eating vegetarian food all week in preparation for the seafood/steak onslaught.
Last time I went to Spain I was in a Granada where I had deep friend lambs brains. It was great but felt a bit like eating battered pâté. Bit too rich....probably because my mate ordered a ration rather than a tapas.

San Sebastián - unreal food. If you want to go upmarket but can't afford Arzak (about €250 a head) try Mirador de Ulia. Hands down one of the best meals I've ever eaten and not that expensive. The view is phenomenal.

We have used something similar to this http://www.amazon.com/Dexter-Russell-S138PCP-Fillet-Sani-Safe-Series/dp/B002C7XNBM/ref=pd_sim_sbs_sg_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1YAFNV0M7CM891337RMM for a fishing knife that does double duty as a kitchen fillet knife.

Been to San Sebastián twice and these are my favourites:
Morgan C'est Ici http://www.morgandonostia.com/ - amazingly good value lunch menu 3 course + wine for 20 euros, great for when you've had enough of the pintxos bars
Bodegón Alejandro - another good sit-down option, cheaper than the Michelin starred places but still great cookingPintxos:
Bar Paco Bueno - erratic opening hours, excellent gambas
Bar Zeruko - terrible decor but amazing food, more 'experimental' pintxos
Atari Gastroteka - really good quality, great for the classics
Bar Casa Senra - on the other side of the river, I remember it didn't look like much but had excellent veal cheeks
A Fuego Negro - I didn't think this was as great as some reviewers seem to, but definitely still worth trying. Crab ice cream was the wrong side of experimental for me!General rule: order from the menu/chalkboard, rather than picking up the stale bits of bread and whatever on the bar. Even if you don't know quite what you've ordered, I always think it's better to go for the freshly cooked pig's ear than the soggy old croquetas that've been sitting there all day.
Also take a trip out of the city to one of the cider houses, they're all pretty much the same and do the same menu (Salt cod omlette, salt cod and peppers, massive T-bone steak, cheese and walnuts) with unlimited cider refills. We went to this one which is one of the more well-known http://www.petritegi.com/en.html
Another good place out of town is this amazing fish restaurant in Getaria http://www.restauranteelkano.com/

Personally- http://www.nisbets.co.uk/Victorinox-Straight-Boning-Knife-12.5cm/C673/ProductDetail.raction . The metal's quite soft, which means it can loose it's edge quicker than others, but can get it back again very easily. Also a strong pair of scissors, if you are going for flat fish. Add a normal kitchen knife, and a serrated/bread knife, and should be able to deal with anything.

I am here: http://www.markthalleneun.de/breakfast-market
I was promised jook and sweet noodles. I have seen no such thing. Lots of different ways of combining eggs and truffels though. They have bagels which I may eat soon.

If you've never roasted cauliflower, you really should.
Leave the florets quite big, bit of oil, some smashed up spices. Hour at 190 degrees.

• #19574
Update: Bagels were the best thing there. @Chadders81 I have roasted cauliflower but kind of ruined it by adding a cheese sauce.

Yes! Like the fried stuff in good Lebanese/Indian cooking but maybe a bit healthier.
Roasted broccoli is delicious as well.
do you even stock, bro?
