  • I searched this thread for 'Willesden'. No results.

Any recommendations? Nothing too fancy, nothing too exuberant. Family meal (no kids, but also no drinkers).

  • Bunged a baby gem, some toms, a smear of hummus and a few drops of chilli sauce in a wrap then griddled the whole thing = BOOM

Did it blow up? Was there a pocket of methane gas trapped in the baby gem?

  • Went to Ostuni in Queen's Park last night. Trying rather hard to be Polpo and failing. Unfortunately it didn't fail to take a pretty sizeable amount of money from my wallet :-/

  • Ostuni is a lovely town in Puglia. Glad you were able to visit!

London Burritos Suck... an Al Pastor Super Burrito from El Farolito on Mission street in SFO, however... fucking amazing.

  • Just sour grapes because I always seem to end up eating a bit of foil by accident.

  • Had some mates round on the weekend, excuse to perfect the onglet, which I believe I did. Trimmed the central sinews out, marinaded in a little oil and herbs and cooked it perfectly pink this time. Twice cooked frites with home grown spuds. A quick sauce was made using the pan juices, a knob of butter, one finely diced onion and a glug of sherry. Bottles of red were consumed with gusto.

I back this 100%. I would like to add a carnitas burrito from Taqueria CancĂșn and a tofu ranchero* super burrito from Pancho Villa into the conversation.

While we are at it, I should mention that the south-west corner of Dolores Park and a can of Oly complements any of these options nicely.

    Evidence of a solid day.

    stupid homesickness thread
