Just made spaghetti puttanesca. Probably the least sociable, but most super-awesome, pasta dish. Garlic, chilli, and salty fish overload

Rabbit in rosemary, garlic and red wine tonight... #hangovercure

in other news maltby street proved to be uneventful; almost all the food was ran out by 2 and then the awesome cocktail place (little bird I think) ran out of gin an hour later :( so no monty's for me; had a good falafel though and blagged a negroni before the gin ran out; would visit again earlier.

^ I could do with one of those..
After hard day in the saddle was looking forward to fish and chips and no cooking.
To my dismay our chippy was closed, maybe closed down :(So had to resort to tomorrow's dinner plan and extra mouth to feed. Taking inspiration from La Chatica 'Authentic Colombian' produce and cafe. I roasted plantain and sweet potatoes in the oven, alongside jerk chicken pieces which had been marinating all day, served with homemade rice and peas, all washed down with ginger beer.. Thank god I don't have to wash up..
From now on sweet potatoes and plantain roasted in the oven for an hour in their skins.. I love the fact that where the plantains split you get a caramelised section and the insides are all gooey..
Perfect post ride autumn supper

Yeh, I heard it's called 'Tart's spaghetti' or something!? So good though. Makes me want to go round to Il Bacio on church street and bosh an anchovy and caper pizza. The saltiness must be addictive.
And Amey, that sucks about Maltby Street. I was going to go today specifically to go to Monty's having seen in to the telly box on Monday night, but my mates couldn't make it til 2 so we sacked it off. You'd have though they'd keep running til a bit later, stalls at Borough are still serving at 4....

In a similar vein, I just had this double lamb chop, pan fried with salt, pepper and fresh thyme from the garden. Roast potatoes natch.
Washed down with Jennings' Cumberland Ale.
One of the tastiest pieces of meat I have ever eaten.

That pub food moniker is bollocks but the 3.5kg of beef short ribs* Tom Kerridge knocked up on tonights show was preposterous.
Also warmed beef dripping as a salad dressing
*obsessed

Nice Denby plates. I've got tons of that crockery in the same colour.

I cooked his lamb shoulder and potato boulanger last night (4kgs worth!)- there is no picture of said meal.
Served with creamy spinach and french beans and hazlenuts.
So now this week I have to cook another 4kg of meat? Poor old me.
