Just had a burger at http://www.rotarybardiner.com/
It was sick. One of the best burgers I've ever had. Think Lucky Chip still holds the crown, but this is def the runner up.
Carl Clarke who does the food at Rotary also has his own place, Disco Bistro upstairs at The Rising Sun near St. Pauls. Disco Burger pretty special but very, very rich

I had a great one in New Covent Garden market that's just as good as the one in Budapest, would be fantastic if there's other places in London that do them.

on a whim i bought some burrata with the weekly online shop as it sounded proper nice.
now i have no idea of the best way to munch it.
anyone got any decent recipes that use it? quite like the sound of using it in a pasta dish.

Its basically a super fresh and milky mozarella. In Italy my in-laws eat it raw for a summer lunch, torn up with tomatoes, basil and bread. Don't think I've ever had it cooked.

Cook burrata! gtfoh!
Basically, over the sink, I get it out of the container and push it straight into my mouth, chew, swallow, breathe. repeat.Alternatively, when in front of people and need to confirm to some table manners: bed of rocket, tomato, best olive oil money can buy, crusty hot bread, crack of pepper if that is your thing.
It's my most fav food in THE WORLD.

this is almost as amusing as this review on the ocado site
like a scotch egg, but made of mozzarella and cream cheese rather than sausage and egg. brilliant.
in which case i think i'll get some decent bread, tomatoes and some fresh basil and go to town on it for lunch one day this week then.

It eat asap. My italian friends always complains about burrata being shit everywhere but in italy (as with everything else italian, thinking about it) as its supposed to be made in the evening and eaten the day after, no later than lunch. Basically, a 24hr old burrata isn't worth its name.
After comparing burrata here, and the fresh stuff in italy, they certainly have a point, but it's still amazingly good.

Fuck. Just looking at it drains years from your life
Going to Mangal in dalston tonight. SO EXCITED.
Having ridden around 85 miles today I'm 100% justified in eating absurd amounts of delicious grilled meats and amazing fresh turkish bread.
