  • Just watched some BBC kids show where they made them eat sheeps brains blindfolded so they didn't know what they were eating. How fucking irresponsible. Have they not heard of CJD?

  • Just caught up with iPlayer this week for the first time in months.

How does one marry Rachel Khoo?

  • From what I've been learning about in my degree all prion diseases are linked to the same misfolded/amyloid form of the PrP protein, and can be transferred by these alone. Having said that, recent studies were done on mice infected with PrPsc (the misfolded form) and the levels of PrPsc do not always correlate with the severity of spongiform neurodegenration.

So if the most recent research can't work out how it works, I think it's best to eradicate the chances of contracting something awful by steering clear of that sort of food. And you certainly shouldn't be portraying the idea on TV to kids that it's OK to try any kind of wierd meat they like!

  • I eat brains regularly and I am fine. Case solved.

  • melon with mayo

    Really?...green nails?

Lots of speculation surrounding the latency period of CJD but it coud be around 50 or 60 years. Or less

How does one marry Rachel Khoo?

    who?

    le google

  • Well quite.

  • Paris + absurdly pretty + instagrammed food.

    It's the dream.

  • I think we'd probably divorce eventually. I'd find her a bit gratingly twee, she'd find herself less attracted to me after I put on so much weight.

But in the meantime...... DAYUM! Those'd be some good eats.

  • where is good to buy game

i am doing a game pie on Friday, I have a pheasant but want some other things to add - possibly venison, boar or other game bird

looking for things that would respond to a slow cooking process so rough cuts on the bone are not a problem

  • I am a little annoyed by Rachel Khoo as she looks a bit like a more attractive less vegan version of me.

    Harumph.

  • Arg. We even own a few of the same dresses.

  • You're khooler than her!

  • @ dj
Parsons nose in Putney was really good when it was called Buckleys. No idea about it anymore.

J Seal in Barnes is good- or at least it has good stock for poultry- a family friends stuff is there- review here:

    (Otter Valley poultry)

    And of course there's lidgates...

(one day soon- if we manage it- J Seal may stick our own lambs, though we're very much in the early stages of that process at the moment...)

  • Harumph.
    Good.

    You're khooler than her!
    Also good.

That's my good quota for the day.

Now I'm going to watch Episode 5.

    She's making lentil salad.

I'm allergic to lentils but I still find the prospect appealing.

Nah fam. I watched one of her shows and got annoyed with her sloppyness when it came to chopping food.

    Y u no chop neatly!

This marriage would not work between me and her

  • Paris + absurdly pretty + instagrammed food.

    It's the dream.

Her flat is a restaurant and she cooks for just like one or two tables. Obviously you have to book and after her show she's either not gonna do it or have a fucking huge waiting list... but imagine! Be sick

  • Nah, she quit unfortunately and now lives back in London.

Not that I tried to book or anything...

  • Even better now she's easier to track down...

  • I am a little annoyed by Rachel Khoo as she looks a bit like a more attractive less vegan version of me.

    Harumph.

Don't worry, wait until you see the shot pan out, there's a LOT to her....a whole lotta woman

The case solved bit was a joke, but I do genuinely eat brain at least once every 6 months.

  • I can't eat anything that something has thought with.

  • Give it a try, it makes good curry.
