  • T3 is a great choice, same lens as t4 minus hipster tax

Different lens, *f*2.8 vs. *f*3.5 Tessar.
The T3 has the faster lens, though it also has that piece of plastic in front of it for weather-proofing.
Was actually thinking about cutting this out.

  • Mju II, Slide film of some sort

    Great shots, as always.
Especially the last one shows me once again how crisp Mju-II can be.

And yes, do get a negative scanner.

  • ricoh gr1s and the poundland AGFA vista plus

    ..nice colours & punch - I like...

  • Man, I miss "multi-quote".....
    : D

  • Ahhh thanks for the info Tina. Did not know that.

  • ...actually, while researching on these point & shoots some months back, I read somewhere that the T4 does have the same kind of lens - but "forced to 3.5" to ensure maximum sharpness.
I don't know. Maybe it's a rumour, maybe it's indeed the exact same lens-design (T3's glass elements are definately much bigger).
I had both (gave the T4 away because I thought "this thing is too fragile for me"), and kept the T3.
Looking back, maybe it wasn't a good choice, maybe T4 was sharper...
...but I'm scanning CT Precisa I shot with the T3 as we speak, and I love the results so far, once again.. so it's all good!

  • woahhhhh nice photos on this page

  • Olympus Mju II, Portra 160:

  • Neat!
    You shall make a book!

Speaking of which - wanted to revivify the talk about the "lfgss photo zine" -
has anybody looked into printing options / can anybody look into this, please?

I think we could easily knockout a monochrome copyshop one,
but a lot of people are donig colour in here, so it would be a shame..

  • Nefarious, that second one is really doing it for me! They're all classy though.

  • Mix up the stock. There are a lot of low fi gritty type shots on here which would be fine in b and w on rough stock then the more elegant colour shots could be on a higher grade stock to take the colour.

Those last two shots from @nefarious can fuck right off for being too damn good.

  • some b&w ones.

Mixing up the stock is of course a nice way to do this, but do you know of printers that make a book / zine for you on mixed stock that ends up being reasonably priced?

  • :)

..haha, I like the idea, but seing this project is "on the way" for five years now does not make me think people really are interested..
    : ]

  • @tina_fucking_caroll yeah I could make some enquiries but I can imagine the project would be a nightmare to manage. If someone comes to me with a spec I can talk to printers I know, but someone would have to take a strong lead on the whole thing as a big group effort will not work.

  • Yea, I figured the only way this would actually work is finding some sort of online printing service that we give our prepared data to - and that prints like 100 copies of this for us we crowd-fund before hand.

  • ahahha i like your latest name change.
Yeah off the peg digi printing is prob the cheapest, but then its not bespoke...

  • No, unfortunately not; but I believe bespoke would be too expensive / not accomplishable.
Happy to be proven wrong though..

  • Mamiya RB67, Kodak Ektar:

  • Yea baby!

Like the one with the bridge the most..

    :]

    You don't say. :)

  • Ja ja - let's not be smart about it but get thinks going, mkay?

  • Would be interested in a copy and willing to contribute should I have anything worthwhile.

Also fine with B&W as I find myself shooting a lot of that lately.

I think the problem is precisely that people have been thinking about it too much. ;P
