  • Loads do, loads don't. Some have the option of adding metered prisms, others don't.

Un metered cameras are often (but not always) cheaper but this saving is negated if you need to buy a decent meter.

That's what I've started to notice, there seem to be millions of configurations, which is also great. The choice of viewfinders with the Mamiyas is very appealing but to be honest, I might just try to be more prolific with 35mm until it's a hindrance.

  • The pentax 645 I bought from japan has arrived in customs at Coventry and I couldn't be more excited!

My only dilemma now is what to put through it. I love xp2 so that is going to be first, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of which colour film to use.

  • Portra 400!

  • Only £22 for a 5 pack from calumet so was very tempted by that

My only worry then is processing, I know I may get judged heavily, but I've been going to my local snappy snaps in muswell hill and they have been doing and ok(ish, very much ish) job

But i really don't want to waste the potential of what I could get out of this new setup

  • Why buy a camera like that, professional film and then take it to snappy snaps?

Just pay the extra for proper developing.

  • ..well then buy pro film & get your shit developed at a pro lab.

Also take great pictures in the first place.

  • I'm a bit naive of pro labs

  • Just pay the extra for proper developing.

  • Ektar // Nikon 50mm Series E

  • TK, I really like that; the orange really pops. Got that same lens stuck on an f5 somewhere too...

Drew87, just post you rolls to Ag photo lab. It costs less than snappy snaps and their scans are actually not bad at all for the money. Good resolution at least and no grid patterns in shadows etc.

  • Sounds good! All I need is developing really, I have a negative scanner at home that can handle medium format

  • Just picked up a new body OM2n, Taken with a 50mm 1.8 (On a cycling trip to Amsterdam)

And a 28mm 3.5 on a trip to Berlin and surrounding areas.

    (Switzerland)

    (Berlin)

    (North Czech Republic)

    (Prague)

  • I really want to get a sharper wide angle!

  • Get an Olympus XA.

Some atmospheric shots.. thanks for sharing.

  • Great stuff in there

  • Second one is lush

  • You do get around.

  • love those. especially 2, 3, 4 & 6.
sticky shutter? or is there some light getting in.

  • Cheers guys! Yea as you can see in the 4th photo there is clearly an issue, I believe it was to do with the film advance lever (as it began occurring after I knocked it off) perhaps it was not quite advancing the slide and just a small part of the frame that had been taken previously has had some light leaked on to it. No idea what I'm talking about though... Having it serviced currently though.

  • Ektar / 200mm Nikkor

  • Just picked up a Ricoh gr1 cheap with a shutter problem, does anyone know if (unlikely) there's a quick fix for this or where I could get it fixed?

    Cheers

  • I've had GR1 repaired by Ricoh in germany. They did a good job but quick it certainly was not.

Really lovely cameras to use (when they're working).

  • I had my Ricoh gr1s repaired at http://www.johnsons-photopia.co.uk quick turn around and a lot cheaper than sending it to Japan. The german repair company Ricoh put me in touch with never replied to my emails or calls either.
