  • Sorry, yes. The easel can be any angle you like if you are prepared to sacrifice from the edge of the image. (It also means a perfectly level horizon on the negative can become less than perfect when printing...)

Strongly recommend developing and printing your own stuff, if only for the sense of acheivement irrespective of quality. I do my own monochrome (and have always paid someone else to process what limited colour I shoot) - sometimes to good effect, often not as good as I would like, but invariably finishing with a sense of personal satisfaction.

  • For some reason, on every roll I've shot on the RB67, it misses two frames and they come out blank, it's always the same (one around the 7/8 mark and one around the 10 mark).

    Any ideas?

  • Cheers for the advice, everyone is really helpful as ever on this thread. I think my next step is to start some developing and printing myself!

  • not sure bout the RB but RZ backs are notoriously temperamental. Try a different one and see if that solves the issue.

I just don't get how the back could result in blank frames (other than leaving the dark slide half in).

Google seems to suggest quite a few people have had similar problems. I got the camera through a dealer (or at least it was purchased from one and given to me) so I'm going to contact them.

  • Enough camera chat - have some photos.
    RB67, Portra 160.

And probably my favourite climbing shot so far:

    Couple more here: http://imdabestmayne.tumblr.com/

  • colours in the first one are just great. blood and moss. I like it better than the 2nd one too, as a climbing pic.

  • same here, prefer first

  • First one is excellent

  • First results from my Holga 135pc pinhole camera. With ISO 200 film.
Not really pleased with the results, every picture is very blurry. I have to find out how that is possible. I think most of them are over exposed. Here are two shots.

  • ...every picture is very blurry...

This is, I think, a function of the pinhole/camera proportions and the recording medium - circles of confusion on the negative being the key, assuming no camera shake. Blurriness will be consistent from foreground to horizon with almost infinite depth of field. The texture of the asphalt at two inches away is no better defined than the far building in the example below (using a homemade camera and paper negative) however, if you shoot through a window, every smear and speck on the glass will be just as well defined and add to the impression of blurred images.

It's a different game - you'd be doing well (or lucky) to get the results you want from the first film - keep trying!

  • For all you colour buffs/fans:

I've book in to see it.

  • Shot half a roll in one camera then rewound it and put it in my Hexar but forgot I'd already shot half of it,

Some other, non-double-exposures on my Tumblr or Flickr too

  • I'm thinking of selling my Olympus om-20. It's a great camera but I'm moving away for a while and won't be taking it with me:

    Olympus OM-20 body
    Olympus-Zuiko 50mm prime lens
    Sigma 24mm prime lens
Sturdy 1970s black leather case (Zenit)
    Flash

I'm thinking about £80 posted. It's all in pretty good nick - pm for details.

  • Would you sell just the sigma 24mm?
    What's the flash?

  • Sure, the flash is a Holgon - nowt special. I paid £40 for the lens so I'd like to get that back - pm me for details if you're interested.

  • hmm, tempted. I'm actually looking for an OM-1, though

Thing is I have an OM-2 body with a fucked winder, at least I think that what it is. I picked it up for a song a few years ago with an assortment of Zuiko primes. I'd love to use the lenses as opposed to flog the lot. I bet the 50mm 1.4 gives some lovely shots paired with Velvia

  • Pentax 67, Fuji Pro 400h

  • Got this for £33 posted the other day.

Just fitted it and it really makes holding the beastly RB67 a lot easier! Just need to track down a viewfinder now. . .

  • leica m6, 35mm summicron, fuji neopan 100 scanned on the imacon flextight (pretty much out of scanner)

  • Scanning with a flextight is pretty irrelevant if you then let facebook compress them to smithereens!

    Great looking images though.

  • true, will upload to my daily blog this weekend, i felt dirty uploading it to fb

  • Does anyone have any good info on London based used/vintage camera repairs?

Still suffering from bad camera shop experience..

My Ricoh GR1s shutter isn't working. I had the same problem half a year ago..

I took it to Sendean Cameras in soho.. I was charged £150 quid for a 'full service' without being told what the original fault was and what specific repair work was carried out. I found their setup slightly shady as they send the cameras to another location for inspection. As a result of this you can't actually talk to the mechanic who worked on your camera. I was just given the 'it needed a service' line.

The service came with a 3 month guarantee and 4 1/2 months later I'm having the same problem. It's starting to make the camera financially unsustainable.

Interestingly, a friend of mine who also had a Ricoh Gr1 but with a different problem received identical service and the same invoice to match. ..

    any help v.much appreciated..

  • Is it possible to go to their Clerkenwell base and ask the mechanic there?
