  • Am brinking an AE-1 to shoot at Flanders in a fortnight. It's a little battered (viewfinder's even been poked in) and I've yet to find a replacement battery for it, but... I was thinking the old zoom and regular lenses I have might be the best to bring with me. I can get my hands on cheap Kodak 200 in local pound shop too. I haven't used it in awhile, but am hoping the results will be interesting at least.

  • I hate the sound of that camera (..tt-k'schh) -
but it's kind of a workhorse. Mine's 32 years old now,
didn't need anything but batteries and light seals so far.
And a proper lens of course!

  • It's only a few years younger than myself I think. T'was my dad's. I used to take B&W with it, not a clue what I was doing tbh. Nothing has changed much. Took these about 15 years ago with it.

Will try and find at least one that I can post when I get back.

  • so much good stuff tonight

which area? if not in londons famous london an chance of a hook up? i'm allways of the look out for the mythical 'pound land 35mm'

  • My brother got me some from a poundshop in Greenwich, can't be more specific i'm afraid

I should really have said "euroshop", sorry?

over expose by half a stop if in date, 2/3 if slightly out of date and it'll be fine.
It grains up real bad in the shadows (think the iso200 rating is a bit higher than it really is?), other than that, go for it, I used it extensively when abroad as its cheap enough to just have a mountain of it and shoot like crazy

Ae1's do make a screaming noise on some speeds (slower than natural 1/125th?) when they need servicing (old oil dries up, need fresh lube in allsorts of places), as its on the slower speeds the slight drag doesn't really affect performance to the extent of bothering worrying about it TBH. I.E. 1/30th might come up more like 1/20th

  • Never been a fan of that Kodak 200.
I don't know, it's not bad, but 'boring' somehow.

Has anybody on here used 'Tudorcolor' material?
    Here's 6 rolls for a tenner (+ shipping).
There are some fresh flicks in a flickr-pool, here.

    .

I need to stop buying film.

Another 6 rolls to shoot now, whoops.

Thank you very much. Appreciate the advice.

Taken with same camera. I have a feeling that I may have messed around with the saturation a bit though:

  • The last page has been awesome
