  • One from when I was in Canada in 2009 (fucking hell, that was ages ago?!)

  • I know its a while ago, but do you remember what camera and film you might have used?

  • ^^ Nice, do you use a filter?

  • cgrayson7272, love those shots.

A mate of mine is flogging his old F3T... I'm tempted but already have an FE which is perfectly functional. Any F3 users here? How you getting on?

  • ^ Lies. You didn't film that, but an upstanding and sadly deceased member of this community.

How dare you sully his name by passing his work off as your own?

    I spit on you.

He speaks to me from the other side, I contact him via the ouija board.

  • i don't agree. photoshop is just another tool to create the images you want.
it can be used well or spectacularly badly.
it's not a sticking plaster for bad photography though.

    Not true.

The lens flare filter improves all pictures.

  • And sepia with gaussian blur gives everything that nice wedding photo look.

    Agreed.

Basically you can do anything in Photoshop and it always looks good, always.

  • GIMP on the other hand..

  • Is this the car park for the UBM building on blackfriars's?

    No, it's in Newcastle.

I was using a Voigtlander Bessa R2A, the film was Fuji Superia 400, and nah, I didn't/don't use filters. I imagine they'd open up a whole new set of possibilities for me (especially with B+W) but it just seems too much hassle.

I feel the same about filters, too much for my small brain to think about.

When I read Ansel Adams The Negative, it made me realise how much can be done to B&W with filters, but I have a long way to go learning about exposure in general, composition etc etc, before I try and complicate things further......

I've heard really really good things about his series of books...heard The Camera is a bit outdated, but was considering reading the negative and/or the print if I had the time.

  • The Negative is probably most relevant, esp if (like me these days) you dev film, then scan it. Good book.

  • Idiot friend borrowed my Olympus mju ii (stylus epic) and left it on the bus. Would really love a new one but ebay asks for muchos gn. Anyone have one going at a reasonable price? i.e. sub £20. Bought mine from Arundel Photographica, sadly they have none in right now.
Love this camera, so small and tough.

  • Any good photography podcasts? Need something to listen to at work.

  • Anyone around here got some Portra NC 400 or 160 that I could buy and collect around Victoria/Central London before the weekend? 35mm.

Haven't been here in a while so just caught up on the thread. Some really beautiful shots. :)

  • speaking of which, has anyone used the new "do-it-all" Portras?
why are they getting rid of all the non-vivid materials (eg. Portra paper)

Apparently the new 400 is incredible. Saw some samples of it at 3200, and it was so clean.

I like the ones of the groynes at the beach. I'm interested in making a pinhole camera myself - I'm gonna be searching for 50p cameras at the car boot sale. Or I might make one myself! Did the rest of the film not come out?

The film was generally over-exposed so I need to adjust my exposure time for the next roll I do
