  • You have hit the nail on the head. I mean, that Robert's hasn't really stamped his own on the way of taking pictures. They just remind me too much of other work that has gone before.

    I like your quote!

  • Some stunning photos on the previous page. Why can't I take snaps like that dammit?? :)

  • Some recent film snaps:

Shot from the hip, got lucky.

I've got such a backlog of film at the moment that I need to develop/ get developed.

    Oh and Neopan is lush!

  • Spenceey - what camera's that, dude?

  • Yashica Electro GSN - Rangefinder with a 45 1.7 lens.

Think you can pick them up for about £50 on the bay.

I've got a couple if you fancy trying one out?

  • that's so weird - I've taken some shots which are almost identical to those! (minus gf...)

you interested in selling one of those?

  • Cheers for the offer, dude. I've actually got a Lynx 14e. :) Those lenses are pretty good in low light! What ISO Neopan you been using?

  • Spenceey, the skyburst shot is excellently potrayed (except for glass and water reflection), and the one of your lady at night, is nice.
I have long ached for that camera also! Coincidentally, Neopan 400 has been my favourite, ever since it was launched.

  • Yeah, my ISO question was actually about that low light street shot of your lady friend. It's nice to not have to use a flash.

  • Cheers chaps, the one of Kate (AKA lady friend) was the normal film rating of 400 probably 1.7 its much easier to shoot low speeds on rangefinders.

GA2G - I've got loads of the stuff, fuji film had a load on sale last year online and I ordered about 100 rolls! so I've got some for 35mm and a load for the fuji ga645, also a lovely camera.

  • Oh p.s. if anyone is interested in the other Yashica Electro GSN I'll happily sell it to someone who is going to give it good use!

  • i'd love to provisionally dibs that...if selling...

  • Didn't take long!

I've also recently re fitted new light seals, so it should be good to go!

  • no, things fly around here - have fish, will bite! looks like a little gem. pm'd

  • Anyone want to buy some 35mm kit from me? I got two canon eos bodies I never use (modern canon lenses will fit these bodies with auto focus and aperture settings) and a lens.

-Canon eos 1000FN body only: £20 posted
-Canon eos 500 bodyt only : £15 posted
-Canon eos EF 35-80mm USM lens (never used it, so I don't know what it's like) £15 posted

Feel free to make offers if you think they're too steep. Both cameras are fully functional, but the 1000FN needs a new battery.

I'll take some photos in a minute.

  • does anyone know if you can get disposable cameras with slide film in them?

  • I don't think they've done them for years mate, they do black and white disposable cameras still though.

  • does anyone know if you can get disposable cameras with slide film in them?

It almost seems a trick question nefarious... Since slides have only an exposure latitude of approximately 1/2 - 1 stop below or above acceptable exposure, such throwaway camera would require quite an impressive metering system, to be of any real use. No?

I like trick questions. Give us another. ;)

i know about the exposure latitude (i've been told by some it's as low as .3 of a stop in fact) but i was just wondering if such a thing existed, technically flawed as it would be. seems slightly silly too considering the expense of dev/mounting costs.

and tbh even though colour reproduction is going to be off, i've shot plenty of out of date film, on my om1 with a broken light meter and still got plenty of perfectly good shots - for what i needed them for anyway.

  • Just buy a cheap p&s and a shed load of film, job done!

  • Exactly as spenceey said, in fact, get a Olympus Trip 35, they're cheaper than a disposable camera.

  • anyone know where I can have a photo-book done on a budget(A3 or A4)?

heres my snaps from a couple of days ago(Leica M4-2 + Rollei Retro 100 aka Agfa APX 100):

  • try blurb.com, not that cheap. alternatively print it yourself, create the layout with in design and get it bound. i paid less than £50 for a a4 bind with titles on the book.

  • if your gonna blurb it, go for www.lulu.com its slightly better quality paper.

failing that city binders or blissets out west are both super good quality and failry good prices.

  • I have a working original Olympus XA1 with flash unit for sale if anyone wants it? very good condition.
