  • so enough peeps 4 a three team league and a ref we'll b charging 4 spectators next

  • i will play as well i just need to sort a pole from somewhere got some pipe still

  • Cheers Priya - nice wheels, look forward to seeing it in the flesh

  • Cool, so sounds like we have enough people for 3 on 3 at least. Shall we organise a game for a week on Tuesday? (17th)

Or do you think its still too cold/dark?

  • ill have a pop along.
have a day off work so will try and make some sort of mallet.
    what time meet?
can we make it 6/6.15 or onwards just cos im at work till 6. will come straight from though.

weather says it should be ok on the computer

  • Week on tuesday good with me. Got bike decisions to be made. I can be home from work by 6. Sunset is 1815 on the 17th so not going to be light. Balls. I'm up for having a dick about/practice anyway. Unless it's raining

  • whats the decision matt? is the firebike ready?

  • I've been riding firebike for a few weeks - looks wicked although there's some kind of chainline issue that I can't get my head round, possibly related to the frame being warped. Might bring it out to the good fixed riders of Newcastle for a bit of advice on that one. Also need some single chainring bolts, then it's done. It's got those ridiculously big pursuit bars on though so doesn't lend itself to polo - might go with the Puch for now.

  • fire bike! got any pics

  • I'll stick some pics up tonight - in fact I'm up for a bit of a ride if anyone's about...

  • Unfortunately can't do tonight, kind of a busy week but free on wednesday or thursday evening if anyone fancies something.

  • im up for a bit of a blast later on matt. how does 7.30 at monument sound?

  • That sounds like a plan Gav, see you there

  • spotted a surly steamroller outside reflex records locked to a dumpster at around 12.40 today

  • Did a white-framed fixie just buzz me on the Jesmond Dene footbridge? You were flying.

  • Do you guys not want to just create your own forum?

If you create a social group you can magic into existence a forum under the social groups area... then you can have a whole area in which to post as many threads as you want and stuff.

Not bothered if you don't, just happened to notice that this thread has 600+ replies :)

  • i may make one later. if we do can we move this thread into the new forum?

    edit:

"you need more member to make a forum"

    http://www.londonfgss.com/group39.html

  • Yeah, sounds fine by me - do sometimes feel a bit guilty that all the Londoners have to see all our crap. Didn't know you'd set a group up already Phil. All we need is some nice clear instructions for the less technically minded among us. I'm sure VB can move this thread right?

  • i just made that group now, just click that link and join or something

i just invited all the people who posted on the last few pages i think.

  • All sign up to the group... and I'll move the thread the moment you have a forum created.

And if you have other threads that you want putting in there from around the board I'll move those too.

The advantages to this are that you can get a Newcastle RSS feed, you can have your own area for events, you can have your own moderators if you want them, you can have your own announcements and notices, you get to see who is in or around Newcastle even easier from the members of the group, etc, etc.

Lots of boring stuff, but it does help get more people onboard, and that generally helps to get more people riding :)

  • excellent, how many people do you need to make the forum?

  • Well if it's more than about 10, we're boned

  • Back to things bike related.

Is anyone free this weekend for either polo or some kind of longer ride. I'm probably going to get a 30/40 miler under my belt although potentially up for doing both seen as it's my first free days in ages.

  • im free all sat and maybe even sunday, am up for doing anything but the weather reports look bleak

  • I just got an invitation to the Newcastle University International Summer School. I've applied for the graduate entry medicine course and I think this might be a hint that I have an offer. I'll know by the end of the month anyway.
