  • the major change ive noticed is the switch to youths attacking adults. These kids clearly dont have any respect for adults/authority...prob starting with their parents. I guess they figure well if I can walk over my parents I can walk over everyone else.
When I was young..kids would fight kids but there was a line between kids and adults that was never crossed.

Not sure I agree with this. To be honest I'd only seriously be worried about being attacked where I live (Peckham) if I was 15 and black.

I know of at least 3 friends who have been attacked by gangs of teenagers so i guess its down to personal experience. I lived in new cross / SE for years without any problems atol so although it hasn't happened to me I know it happens....whether Im worried about being attacked is irrelevent really.

  • i've moved to a complete scummy shit hole...

No no, three years in the depths of Nottingham will make you think like that.

  • i recon crime is worse in the outter bits then the city, seem that way almost every where.

  • its not just london, in manchester its guns not knives, you literally hear of a shooting at least once a fortnight. Was getting off the bus the other day had to walk past about 4 14/15 year olds witht their mp3 phones playing ridiculously loud music, i could hear them rapping along to some chorus 'murder, murder, murder'. What the fuck do you expect?! its ridiculous, why should i feel scared in the middle of the day by kids?

what happened to J5 and tribe called quest. 50 cent is the luckiest fucker alive.

  • I'm such a fool.
Back in about 1992, a kid (non-white, non-asian, non-oriental) got on a train at Westbourne Park, stood by the door, glaring at everyone one the train. He then pulls up his t-shirt and shows evryone that he's got a gun stashed into his belt line. He was no more than about 15 or 16. I thought "loony kid, probably got his dad's gun - anyway, that'll never happen again".
Had I known how wrong I was, maybe I'd be in Japan now.

  • the more merrier (?)

then maybe they will start making/importing bigger frames!

    Que??

  • Pistanator, this place is violent, and getting more so all the time. Japan sounds ok.

  • This thread is starting to read like the Daily Mail.

  • it's the fault of the boogie

Don't blame it on the boogie.

It didn't do anything wrong, did it?

  • .... What you really need is an Island, some Knives, pots, pans, tomahawks, guns n'ting. Add some messed up School Kids and ensure only one leaves at the end. That should sort it out.

They should make a film of that.

But not a sequel. please god not that sequel. £6 I'll never get back.

  • some one got shot and stabbed on the floor of my flats about 4-5 years ago

  • This thread is starting to read like the Daily Mail.

I noticed that too. I'm waiting for a post by a Royal Correspondent commenting on how things were better when our Commonwealth subjects were still 'at home' and people stood up (literally) for the National Anthem and stood up (metaphorically) for the right to wave the Union Jack with nationalistic abandon...

  • i wanted to be a 'royal watcher' well that's what i told the dole office when i signed on decades ago either that or a Shepard or water baliff. these kind of jobs were hard to find in brixton

  • Eons ago, I was having to attend fortnightly restart interviews, and I thought I'd managed to take the heat off by asking my restart officer out on a date. We went out a few times, but she used to bring along things like management application packs for Texaco garages and shit.

Some people just can't separate business from pleasure.

  • can someone summarise this thread for me please?

  • can someone summarise this thread for me please?

    boy killed for big-mac.
    outrage ensues.

  • thanks for that nugget of info

  • poor black kids killing each other left right and centre

  • ^^^ i heard it was over a spilt coke.

  • Maybe that's true. Perhaps my perception of things getting worse is just that i've moved to a complete scummy shit hole, from somewhere relatively nice. I was really excited to move to London, but I fucking hate the place now.

so why don't you leave? do us all a favour.

  • Fuck it I'm moving to Japan- now to learn japanese to a level a doctor would need.....hmmm.
    Or California.

    {edit- when I finish my degree}
[double edit- when I can afford to leave london and can deal with the oppressive humidity of japan in summer]

  • I was going to post a link to Hefner's "We Love the City" but couldn't find one. But imagine that this is one. Or go listen to your won copies.
