It's quite funny that many people on this site ride a minimalist bike like this
but if / when they have the opportunity would like to ride a bike like this
which is not quite so minimalist.

my bike was pretty minimalist when i toured, two front panniers on the rear and a tent on a front rack. that dude's bike ^^ looks crazy heavy.

I bet he still forgot something.

i read about a couple who did a europe tout on fixed/ss (pompinos i think) and just had large carradice saddlebags and a tent. I quite like the idea of really minimal pared down touring - faster, cover more ground and easier to sling bike on bus/train to clear a city or a shitty place if you really need to.

Every time i ride my Vivalo to work and back my goal is not to crash it ;)
One goal this summer could be to do a 300km ride in a day.. would be nice, for now i have only done up to about 120km/4½ hours.. don't really have any long term goals.

Mine's simple for now, to get fit and shed about 4 stone.

my shed is heavier than that, must be the tiled roof…

to get to / from work without some white-van / BMW driver trying to start a fight with me. Had one actually get out of his car and come towards me yesterday looking for a fight (right by polo courts in fact)
That is a very useful skill. But not as useful as being able to skid without any pedals at all.
