The best way is to flip some clips on your lips then clip some chips to your hips then nibble chips off your hips and watch the moon eclipse

Most SPDs work thus....
Front of cleat pushed into front lip of retention system, press heel downwards and the rear of the cleat clicks in.
To unclip, twist your foot, and the retention system is prised open.
The problem is that when you start to topple to one side. You will panic and pull up instead of twisting. This will not work and you will topple over. Usually happens at lights, or starting off. eg. at 0 mph. We've all done it, it humiliating but painless.

Those Bebops have been off the market for some time. Due to, IMHO, unfair legal action by Speedplay. Since then there has been reports of other over zelous protection of IP. Speedplay, it seems, are a bit triger happy with the lawyers.

As someone who's just gone through trying to use spd's all I can say is; find some grass and not the street. My knees are killin' me.

Fuck.. Speedplay... How do they work?
-
• #242
the trick is to practice clipping in and out while holding onto something so you don't fall over. Then don't ride with your friends for at least a month because you will only fail to unclip when they're watching.

Fuck.. Speedplay... How do they work?
If they're anything like Bebops, you need to step directly down onto them. The cleat and pedal are tapered to help center the foot.
As for how do you set them up.......feck knows........with difficulty.

spud cleats often touch the floor when atac ones don't. And I've never seen someone pull their foot out of atacs, I have with spuds.
